We stayed for 2 nights, the room was really nice and modern and clean with a really nice view to the mountains. They have limited parking and train station just 2 minutes walking distance. Breakfast was OK, we had 2 times dinner and was nice and tasty food. This place could be easily more than 3 stars.
Stayed here with my aunt. Breakfast was included in the rate. Small balcony with a sitting area for the smokers in your party. Supermarket next door to the property, which is ideal. We had a car that we were able to park in their car park, no additional charge for this. Only down side the car park is small and we got the last space. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Make sure to book a table if you want to eat in the restaurant. As they get busy, they can only take so many tables as they are short staffed as everywhere is nowadays. Food was very good. The Inn is opposite the train station so easy to get onto the train to Zermatt.
Interior are well decorated, staff are helpful. Got a room at first room and its a bit noisy at night. Overall a good night spent. It would be awesome if slippers and conditioner are provided. Didn’t get to use the sauna and jacuzzi unfortunately, they look cozy.
Good overall - I was a solo traveler with no need for frills. I had a single room on the first floor so there was a bit of noise probably until evening. Check-in process was simple - check-out was a bit confusing because there was no one there and a staff member working the breakfast area took my card as I was leaving.
The hotel is right in front of bahnhof. They have a big parking area for free. We took half board and we had a 3 course dinner. Drinks are not included. The breakfast was nice. The sauna and jacuzzi was great. Room and bathroom was clean. Overall, great worth for the money.
I stayed here with my husband and 2 year old child. I saw complaints about the bathroom being to small but I thought it was a nice size. We had half board and were not disappointed in the breakfast and dinner :) the food was great and each dinner you got 2 choices you could chose from. The property literally across the street from the train station. The staff were wonderful and always friendly! The parking is free so that was a plus for us! It doesn’t have AC but you do not need it because it gets so cold at night which is wonderful since I run hot sleeping at night. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is the pillows are flat and very bad. If you can bring your own pillow I would recommend that. I definitely recommend staying here if you have a family and have a car but wanna visit Zermatt! Will stay again if we come back to visit Zermatt! …
Overpriced even for Zermatt. Very poor service in the restaurant. We have ordered take away pizzas and asked to bring outside where we were waiting. We had to wait about half an hour and there were almost no people so I believe they were not busy. When I came inside to wonder about the order, the pizzas were stored in the corner and no one cared. They were nearly warm. Unbelievable. No apology or any word of regret from the waitresses. Pizzas were not good by the way, too salty and burnt.
We chose this hotel (spent 2 nights here) because of its location for visiting Zermatt. Price/quality ratio is much better than in Zermatt. The hotel has free parking for guests and located a 2 minute walk to the station for trains to Zermatt. The hotel room appeared to have been recently renovated and everything was spotless. It had a superb rain shower. Room size was fine and there was a balcony with a view of the surrounding mountains. No fridge in the room and reception said not available either. Second day we did not get face cloths, reported it to reception (chap said "I will pass it on to housekeeping' but we still did not get any) We had half-board which was convenient and reasonable for the price. Food was ok but not marvelous. The main course (meat dish) on both nights tasted practically the same with different meat but the same sauce. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. I would stay here again but not choose half-board.…
I had only one day to stay in the area and decided to see the Matterhorn. Zermatt is a car free zone so I couldn’t drive there and for one night stay I didn’t fancy traveling by train with heavy suitcases so this hotel was pretty much the best solution for me. It is called now the “Matterhorn inn” and it seems like the hotel got renovated recently. The location is perfect, right in front of the train station to Zermatt and with free parking space for my car. I usually hate “budget hotels” and trying to avoid them but this time I’m glad I went out my way and booked a room there. It was specious enough, renovated, clean, with a small balcony and a nice bathroom with a bathtub. The staff was very nice and welcoming as well.
This hotel is now called the Matterhorn Inn. I enjoyed the hotel very much. We had a room with a king size bed and a balcony. I always love when a hotel have a bathtub. This hotel couldn’t be more convenient. Yes, it’s across the street from the train station you take to get to Zermatt. The hotel has guest parking, breakfast, and a convenience store right next door.
