After a group hike we were looking for a place to have some food and drink before catching the bus back to out hotel, and a friend in our group recommended the Engadinerhof. So this is a review about the restaurant only, not the hotel. I was impressed as soon as we entered. This building in traditional Engadin architecture has...

This hotel is beautifully and professionally run and we had a pleasant stay of 3 days. Be aware that it caters primarily to groups of older Swiss, apparently on group tours. We appeared to be the only Americans - not a negative, just a different tourist experience. The breakfast is flat-out awesome. Four-course dinners are hearty but not gourmet. A...

We enjoyed our lunch in this Italian restaurant last Monday. The food was nice and reasonably priced. I enjoyed a juicy entrecote steak with croquettes and vichy carrots. The service was friendly and attentive,

We needed to book room for only one night because we arrived one day earlier for our other reservation in St. Moritz which could not accommodate us. We were pleasantly surprised by the impeccable service. The owner greeted my husband by his name when we arrived and it seemed the maitre'd knew us too as we inquired about dinner reservations....

I've been going to the Hotel Engadinerhof for a number of years and the style and quality has been maintained throughout that time. There are a number of things I especially appreciate: The welcome is warm and friendly. The location is ideal for skiers and walkers. Both the breakfast and the evening meal are excellent and copious (not ideal for...

This hotel has classic, old world charm coupled with great service, comfortable rooms and wonderful location. When we arrived, we were invited to a welcome where we received a glass a wine and a friendly greeting. The breakfast was amazing, with dozens of choices of cheeses, meats, jams, breads etc. Plus they supplied everyone with hiking tea if they wanted....

In March 2015, I spent a week in the Engadinerhof in Pontresina. I can only agree with another comment I found on Tripadvisor: "Do not underestimate this hotel, just because it only has two stars". When Mr Hissung took over, he decided to renovate step by step - each step being affordable. Hence the renovated rooms with bathrooms attached are...

This is a much underrated hotel. Do not be put off by the fact that it only has two stars - the reason for this is that some rooms have not yet been upgraded with en-suite facilities. We were part of a 30-strong group of hikers and we have all been very impressed with the standard of service in this...

Pontresina is a cute, attractive ski town near St. Moritz. Engadinerhof is a freindly German couple owned Hotel for ski travelers - supposedly!! To me it is more like an hotel for retired elderlies who enjoy to be in a nostalgic atmosphere. Rooms are old, lack of most of the components that should be in place in a vacation hotel....
