Hotel Sonne was cosy, comfortable and in a great location. The food in the restaurant was great too. As it was a last minute trip, we didn't have time to find a catsitter and needed a pet friendly hotel, which Hotel Sonne was, and were more than happy to accommodate them. We would definitely return to this hotel!

The restaurant is part of the hotel but is open to outside customers as we were. The building is a fairly old pinewood house, warm and cozy. Service is accurate and fast. The setting is fairly elegant. The food is varied and well prepared and well presented. It includes typical Swiss and international dishes, with both meat and fish available....

We stayed one night. The hotel has one of these weathered, wooden, facades with geraniums in the windows you find in mountain villages in Switzerland. Inside it is fairly modern, though kept in style with the outside. Our room had pine paneling which made it cozy. It was clean, size average. Beds were fine. Bathroom was small, clean with shower....

Location in centre of town. Gorgeous old building. Rooms very cosy and atmospheric. Parking can be a problem if arriving late (similar for all central hotels in Andermatt). Staff miserable for some reason - must have had a long day.

We enjoyed the hotel and the town on a one night stopover. Nice to walk up the adjacent hill after driving all day. Food was really good though, like everything in Switzerland, eye-wateringly expensive for what it was. Staff were helpful and friendly. However, if you are a light sleeper beware the busy street below (we had a loud hiking...

I have just stayed in the Hotel Sonne while on a skiing holiday. This place is very atmospheric with loads of character. Frau Nager knows how to run a hotel with good quality local produce served (the venison was really special) Louis the manager would be an asset to any business and has a great sense of humour. The place...

We stayed during a skiing holiday. Hotel Sonne is a lovely old wooden hotel, bags of atmosphere, excellent food, the owner Frau Nager was fantastic and so was Louis on the desk. Rooms fine, showers always hot and powerful. If we ever come back to Andermatt, this is where we will stay. John and Alison
