Pros: Nice sized queen (w/split in matresses), black out blinds, nice view of the castle across the river, far enough to be quiet, close enough to be convenient, nice typical German breakfast included, good price, parking is convenient and included Cons: The "private" bath is actually shared w/the other room. The room has only a washbasin. Stairs to upper levels... More

This small pension hotel, with about 10 or 12 rooms is near the old town hustle and bustle, but across the river in a quiet neighborhood. About a 15 minute walk to the major shopping areas, restaurants and other sight-seeing. Wonderful view of the castle and river from the front upper rooms. We stayed in Room #5 and had excellent... This is a great place to stay in Cochem. Central location on busy tourist street. Request a view of the river area and you can look out the window over the street to the river. HOWEVER, there is a little street noise from below. Breakfast is served in a sun filled dining area and provides a good start to the... More

This wonderful guesthouse is perfect for a stay in Cochem. Monika is so nice and helpful. She is a wonderful cook too. We stayed here three nights and loved the view of the castle as its lite up at night. The rooms were large with a nice view of the river. Since the guesthouse is across the bridge, it was... More

This is the perfect side to stay for Cochem its a short walk across the bridge to the town center and at night you have a perfect view of the castle... Stayed for 3 nights this time. The gastehaus has improved dramatically over the 9 years we have been going. Over the 9 years, Monika and her family have turned it into a lovely place. Breakfast is traditional German and plentiful. Rooms are modern and the front rooms have a great view. Short walk into town or a 2 euro ferry... More

We've just returned to the UK after a fabulous stay at the Gastehaus Ohlberger Heib. Monika is a brilliant host and so friendly and cheerful. The location was perfect for us - opposite the castle (with a great view from our room) and the busy part of Cochem but only a flat 10 minute or so walk into the centre... More

I used the rooms at number 3, top of stairs, two rooms and one bathroom operating as a four bed apartment. The rooms were immaculate and modern despite the old house. Views were of the highest order across the Mosel River directly onto the castle at Cochem. There will not be many places with this vista in Cochem. The walk... More

We came to Cochem to stay with our family from New Zealand to show the area around the Mosel valley as well as the Eifel region. Our rooms were lovely and nicely decorated with view over the river towards the castle. At breakfast there were more than enough choices and the service was prompt and friendly. Overall the landlady was... More

We stayed here based on a recommendation from the Tourist Information bureau. The quoted price was very good, and in retrospect lower than the advertised rate. The Ohlberger-Heib turned out to be a wonderful place, perhaps the best value of the trip. Our family of 5 had two rooms, one room with a portable bed. The rooms were neat and... More
