We booked this hotel for 3 nights half board. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay by a night.
The hotel is on a quiet road in the middle of the nature with several walks from the door. Very peaceful, though Cochem is only 10 mknutes drive away. Parking in front of the hotel free and without problems.
Check in was ok, the receptionist was not around when we arrived at 15.30, so we had a drink outside.
The room was fine, at the back of the hotel without a balcony and overlooking the woods and a stream which was very peaceful. The decor was ok, could do with updating but there was plenty of space and the box spring bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was good, lots of hot water and a power shower. Tv only German programmes, I know that we are in Germany, but our break just after covid. 19 meant that there were limited options in the area. Wifi on the whole good.
Food both a breakfast and in the evening excellent. Our arrangement included wine(lots of choice). Breakfast hot and cold buffet, everything fresh and warm /hot as appropriate. Lots of choice and attentive service.
Good base from which to explore the area, either by foot, car or cycle. During covid 19, good hygiene, use of hand washes and facemasks, though some older guests seemed to have some difficulty with this. The bowling and bar were not open, but drinks available on the terrace outside.
We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area

We had a great time in this hotel. The room was cosy and beautiful. The food was extraordinary: the breakfast buffet was diverse and the dinner menu was excellent.
A big part of the enjoyment is the location of the hotel: apart from the town, surrounded by nature.
Special thanks to Laura, who welcomed us to the hotel and accompanied our stay there with kindness and warmth (and her great English skills :-))

The only negative point is that we almost never saw anybody at the reception.

We stayed at the Hotel Weißmühle in April. The hotel is located in a very quiet location near a trout stream, which was very tranquil. The rooms were immaculate and functional. Even though they are located in the front of the hotel, I’d make sure to upgrade to a balcony room in order to more enjoy the sound of the stream. The restaurant was attractive, but the food was inconsistent. The first night my wife and I both ordered trout (fresh from the stream perhaps) and the meals were truly wonderful. We went back the next night, ordered that same trout dish, and were disappointed. Perhaps the chef was off the second night (a Thursday). The only other possible drawback to the hotel is that it’s located a few miles out of Cochem. It’s a long walk to town, so you’ll probably need a car. However, the location away from Cochem is what makes the hotel so peaceful. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

We stayed for 3 nights while touring in steam cars. Very quiet position just outside Cocham. We were going to eat in the town in the evenings but the food was so good in the hotel that we ate in every night. The room was a good size and comfortable and we did have a view.

This hotel is an absolute gem! Located on a stream a couple of km from the town, nestled into the forest. My room (a single) was clean, spacious, well-appointed, and quiet. It overlooked the stream with a view of a forested hill. No air-con, but even during a heat-wave (35C!) it was pleasant and the room never got over-hot. The breakfasts were the best I had in Germany, with a very wide selection of breads, pastries, meats, fruit, and deli items. You can even make yourself a bad lunch (only 5 euro) if you want, perfect for a picnic while walking in the forest. There's a trail beside the hotel that goes on for many km alongside the stream, very pleasant. The only inconvenience for a traveller without a car is that the hotel is a 30-min walk uphill from town. A taxi ride is about 8 euro, or else you can take a bus, which runs downtown every hour.

The restaurant was excellent. I normally find hotel restaurants are nothing to write home about, but not in this case---it was good enough that I had two dinners here during a 3-day stay. The fish was as good as everyone says. The "menu of the month" was also excellent. The wine list had a good selection of wines, with many fine local vintages.

We ended up with an extra night to spend in Cochem and were able to secure reservations at this lovely hotel.
The setting of the hotel couldn't be more beautiful.
The restrauant is lovely, both inside and the patio area.
The food was absolutely amazing! Hands down, it was the best food we had in all of Germany.
We had fresh trout that is farmed in the little creek that runs behind this hotel and right beside the patio dining area. We live in an area where we have a lot of great restrauants and this one is right up there with them. This restrauant would be on our list to do in the future

Just returned to the UK after a stay at the Weissmuhle Hotel.
My wife who has to use a wheelchair and myself were made welcome from reception to the resturant we could not fault any of the hotel staff at any point. Our thanks to all the staff.
The meals at the Hotel were second to none with a great selction.
Our room was a good size with a balcony over looking the country side and hills
The weather was a little wet during our stay but having stayed in the area before we found plenty to do and see
Every day we had a today letter with information, tips and menu for that night so that you could plan what to have.and look forword to

This Hotel is on our list to do again in the future

Having followed the reviews on TripAdvisor , this hotel was noted as 2nd best out of 35 in Coghem and like always we were not dissapointed.
It is situated in the mountains at 3kms from the heart of Coghem , very peacefull indeed.
I believe it's not inconvenient to be so far out from live activities and distractions because Coghem is so small you will have seen all there is to see there in less then a day , so you'll be wanting to use your car to visit other places too.
Don't walk down from the hotel to the city , there is a parking next to the train station called "city parking" , it will cost you €2.50 for the day and you'll be 300m from the town center.
Ok, now as for the hotel , it's not a modern looking place , it's in the typical style of the Mosel and Eiffel area , it will make you feel more disconnected from the noise , stress and nerving side of modern urban life.
Very important for me is that everything was neat and clean , personnel were nice and ready to help if needed.
We wanted a place to stay where the evening meals would be fine , not having to go to town looking and hoping for a good meal in the numerous touristic restaurants , nothing spoils my vacation more then paying sometimes lots of money for bad food .
Therefore we took a 4 days , 3 nights in Full Pension with 3 evening at the gastronomic restaurant of the hotel and it was truelly fantastic food , 4 service menus of excellent quality, all 12 dishes were perfect.
Exactly like people have been craving about in these reviews , "cherry on the cake".
Nothing to complain about breakfast , neat & fresh, lots of choice and very good.

Perfect vacations

A little way out of town, very much a forest retreat rather than a Mosel experience, single room, good size, good bed, good price, decor a bit 80s, and unfortunately the smoking receptionists fags tainted areas such as the stairs and reception area.
However the food was awesome, Eric very skilfully guided us through the menu and local wines list to provide a superb meal with perfect local wines. Breakfast too was excellent, comprehensive choice, great quality. Staff lovely, worth visiting for the food alone, and it seems lots of repeat visitors too.
