Well I got mixed feelings with this place. With its location in an old brewery in the city you can explore the very pretty area of Lüneburg. The room was tidy and clean. Just be awayre that there is no staff around. You'll get a door code to let yourself in. The bed was not suiting my back. I felt... More

We enjoyed our stay in a quiet superior room (with kitchenette), which was large, beautifully restored and tastefully furnished. The bathroom was adequate, but nothing special. The whole house oozed character, matching the beauty of neigbouring buildings and the adjacent, splendid, old part of town. Cheap parking behind the house was a bonus, no wifi a minus, decent breakfast options... More

We showed up at Altstadt Gastehaus Drewes Wale not knowing what to expect. This was wonderful...built in the 1400's. Totally renovated, very quaint, comfy, large bed, modern bathroom, very large room-we had a fridge, sink and 2 burner cooktop and table and chairs! You would never expect this from looking at the outside. The owner is off site-so make sure... More

Altstadt-Gästehaus is not a hotel, so if you are looking for a hotel it might not be for you. We were looking for a place to stay for a long weekend in August and all of the hotels were booked solid. Our daughter found this place on the internet and we decided to try it. It turned out to be... More

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of February to attend a great friend's Memorial Service and found this Guest House to be a great base within easy walking distance of the restaurants, shops and sights of Luneburg. We even walked there from the station with cases on wheels when we arrived! Yes there are no staff available... More

Its a guest house...not a hotel. You get a code for door opening at the time of your booking confirmation(took approx 2 hrs after booking in booking .com) With this code you enter the house after 3pm and your room is ready and key is inside the room. No reception, no restaurant or any other staff around. Only for breakfast... More

This guesthouse is picture book pretty, but not hospitalable. It felt as if the owner loved restoring and decorating but was sorry she had to deal with tourists. The only time she showed up on the property was to collect payment. Otherwise she was absent or only knew the word "no." After I had paid on my last day, she... More

I have nothing but praise for this guest house and will certainly be visiting again! Wonderful old atmospheric building and rooms but all the modern amenities you can wish for. I really can't fault it. Knocks the spots off many hotels and is an excellent base to discover a fascinating city.

This very old building was rescued by its current owners from being a derelict porn cinema. They have lovingly refurbished this historic building, which in former centuries hosted a brewery into a little boutique style hotel with modern amenities. It hosts only eleven rooms, including larger suits and is well placed for exploring the historic centre of beautiful Lüneburg. Our... More

Although difficult to find, once there we got a superb room with all amenities. The building from 1489 has been renovated and carefully restored by the owners. The self service buffet offered all youcould ask for including a boiled egg kept in a thermos container to keep it warm. Short walking distance ti city center which apart from Christmas stalls...
