Perfect hotel along the lake. Quaint town, great service and peace & quiet…
Compound is like a small park, great food and very nice personnel.
Mountains are majestic, atmosphere is magic, and the people are very friendly. Hotel offers anything you can dream of.

My boyfriend booked us a couple of nights at the Adolphine Lodge, just off Tegernsee for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. We were lucky enough to have fantastic weather when we were there which was great as they have a great outside pool with plenty of sun beds. I’ve never seen sun beds with sun screeners on them before, absolutely genius! They have an inside pool and a spa but we were too busy enjoying the sunshine to try them. They looked great though. There’s so much outside green space here, and so many different ways to sit outside and enjoy it. One of the nights my boyfriend and I sat out on one of their double sun loungers and just looked at the stars which are so clear and bright. Coming from London this quite the novelty for me.

Service couldn’t have been more friendly. Everyone was so nice.

There’s plenty of places to park and the location is great. You are a few minutes walk from the lake, lots of restaurants and bars.

The room was lovely and very unique, like the rest of the hotel. There are a lot of cool, quirky touches which created a cool but classic vibe. Our room was big with a balcony overlooking the green space. Bathroom was clean with a shower and a bath. Bed was comfy, although it’s pretty low down so be prepared. My only qualm was that it was over 30 degrees and there is no aircon therefore you are going to get pretty hot in the rooms. They will give you a fan if you ask for one but no one told ya that until the end of the stay.

Overall, I would highly recommend staying here! Great value for money and charming staff and hotel!

We stayed for a couple of days and had two rooms. The hotel was easy to find and it's located in a quiet area. The rooms and the other facilities at the hotel were nice and clean. Breakfast was very nice, with a good selection of food. We were treated with kindness and hospitality throughout our visit as well. The special relaxing and positive atmosphere must be mentioned, and it is created by a combination of the hospitality from the staff, the art and decoration inside and outside of the hotel and the building itself. We really enjoyed ourself here and we will definately stay her again when we're in the area.

We booked this hotel through booking.com and were disappointed as it was not quite as described. Firstly it claims each room has a bath and shower but in fact they only have baths with a hand held spray attachment. Secondly the two pools and spa the property says it has are actually part of the adjoining large hotel which you access through a garden gate. I had a facial at the spa and it was excellent. The indoor pool was large and excellent for some serious swimming. The outdoor pool was not so good and a bit grubby, There is also a quite well equipped gym.

The hotel is basically a large house and much more like an upmarket B & B than the boutique hotel we were expecting with small private facilities. There is no reception for example and a real lack of information about the facilties or the local area.

The hotel is a few minutes walk back from the lake, so no views, but close to the centre. The rooms are quite nice, decorated in a chintzy, traditional style and have a balcony, although these only overlook the car park and garden ( which really needed some tending!). There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but a selection of teas and hot water is available by the breakfast room (no milk though). The is also no laundry service.

Breakfast was a reasonable buffet (cold apart from eggs if you wanted them) but we had far better breakfast buffets elsewhere on our travels around Bavaria at hotels that cost half the price.

WiFi is OK but weaker the higher the floor your room is on.

Overall it is a nice enough property and the staff were friendly and very relaxed, but expensive for what it offers.

Booked here as a stopover en-route to Austria.
What a beautiful area - if you haven't experienced this region south of Munich do go - it's absolutely fabulous.
The Villa definitely lives up to its pictures on TA. What you perhaps don't notice is the large spa building next to the villa, where we we actually given a room.
We had booked into the villa, but they had a singing and drumming evening in progress and thought we'd be more peaceful in the spa. Very thoughtful of them, and we were positioned in an apartment - i think the biggest room I've ever sayed in.
The bath was practically s swimming pool!!
We didn't really eat at the Villa bar breakfast, which was nice and served in the villa itself.
Our conclusion was that we didn't spend anywhere near enough time at the Villa, or in Rottach Egern itself, so we'll have to go back.
What hardship!

Overall, recommended.
Rooms are old but clean. The bathtubs with integrated showers are no longer up to date. Not recommended for people with disabilities. The garden chair cushions on the balcony are pretty dirty. A building in the garden is being completely renovated, but we hadn't read about this anywhere beforehand. Can be a bit noisy at times. Breakfast is very good.
It was very disappointing that a birthday was forgotten! This was announced by email with a request to set the breakfast table nicely! That's really sad. It has never been forgotten in any other hotel we've stayed in so far!!!! You also give your date of birth and so the system should show it.
For us, it's a simple accommodation with no demands.
