Hotel Adler is an excellent place to stay, charming, friendly and outstanding management. Their restaurant is also worth visiting, the chef and food are outstanding. Do not miss an opportunity to stay here. Close to Switzerland and France.

Our German hosts found this hotel for us during a recent business trip to Basel. It was a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport, Weil am Rhein is a very peaceful village, and Hotel-Restaurant Adler is close to the centre. My room in the adjacent building was very clean and comfortable and appeared to be newly decorated, there were... More

The first priority at the Adler for the owner and the guest alike is the food - which alone justifies the trip and helps explain the long-standing, cross-border reputation of this much-decorated establishment. Without doing the kitchen a disservice, this is more ancienne than nouvelle cuisine characterized by rich creamy, but light, sauces and evidenced by a high degree of... More

The room was old but clean. The breakfast was normal, the dinner was good but very expensive. Parking was good and free. The cashier (woman whit blond hair) she was very rude!!! I think I am never coming back.

I wonder why the owner operates this place. He does not seem to like his job and his PAYING guests. The word "hotel" is misleading; it should be called youth-hostel. It's hard to find rooms with such filthy carpets and simple beds in this category. Breakfast is also not a winner. The worst about this "Eagle" is the attitude. "Vulture"... More

Had a business dinner here with a group and the food and wine was probably the best I have had in Basel and the surrounding area. Service was attentive and helpful. The restaurant was reasonably full with an older clientele of friends meeting up etc. Thoroughly recommend it and worth a taxi trip out of Basel!

Rude and inflexible customer service. Charged for internet, but only valid for one device. When a code for a second device was requested, receptionist demanded to know why a second device was needed, telling me that i could work perfectly well with one device. I have a computer, iPad and iPhone but of course this is none of her business.... More

We stayed a night here with 2 adults and 2 children in 2 double rooms. The rooms were very old fashioned, our bathroom even had an avocado green suite and the cost of each room (120 and 100 euros) was totally overpriced in comparison to the quality of room. Both rooms were overrun with ants and when we complained about... More

We arrived late without a reservation, but got a friendly welcome from the busy restaurant staff. At first we got offered a 120 euro room, but we choose the cheaper, 80 euro room. Price - quality could be better, the rooms are outdated and the wallpaper/curtain design somewhat psychedelic (70's?). Also the bathroom could use some modernisation. Nevertheless the room... More

The STAFF at Hotel-Restaurant Adler are terrific. They used their limited English skills to assist with our early arrival & because we had a very early departure made arrangements for us to receive a breakfast "to go" bag in the morning. The breakfast bag was filled with 2 sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, juice & a hard boiled egg! We ate dinner... More
