For those who value comfort, serenity and true ideal forest that is the real place!I be coming here for more than 12 years, with the family or sometimes even alone to enjoy family hotel with personal attitude for everyone, small village-resort Hinterzarten located on the edge of the famous Black Forest and all facilities needed for an excellent vacation.
Our 2022 stay Oct 3 thru 6, in an amazing upscale Junior Suite in the Main Building. Beautiful stylish decor and excellent care by housekeeping and the front desk staff. Every request met with friendly obliging employees. The Owner is an amazing Woman. Friendly, Courteous with an excellent Hotel Background from her Family. The food was delicious, prepared with care and presented in a beautiful Black Forest decor setting. This was our second visit and we will definitely visit again in the future.
we had a new Junior suite on the low floor, with a terrace and good space. We would have wished for a bit more space to put the suitcase, instead having it just after the entrance in the hallway, perfect would be a corner to have it out of sight and more important to chance to run it down. Bathroom was wow, great shower and lots of space, the bathtub behind the bad is not for everybody, we did not need it, but cute idea. The drawback on this room is the way to get there, lots of small staircases, corners. The Renovation has made it a stunning modern interior Hotel to the tradition from the outside. Spa also very nice atmosphere with the asian touch. Food menu, good choices and we had a charming waiter, always in a good mood.
Great home base for exploring in the Black Forest. The hotel and grounds are amazing. Be sure to make some time to walk and enjoy the park setting behind the hotel. We had room 225 which has a small balcony with 2 chairs which is in the front of the hotel and overlooks the restaurant building. All meals, except afternoon tea are served in the dining building just across from the hotel main entrance. There is also an underground walkway connecting the 2 buildings just in case the weather turns. All meals were 5-star. The breakfast buffet had everything you could want. Lunch, which we only had time for once, was more than a light lunch/snack. Afternoon tea was served in a nice room just behind the main desk. Served with finger sandwiches and small desserts. Accompanied by piano music. Great way to relax for an hour or so. And then dinner. A four-course gourmet meal every night. You can choose from 4 different menus. 2 of which change daily. Or you can mix and match between menus. Excellent!! And the staff, everyone was outstanding. Too many to mention, but everyone made you feel comfortable and helped with all your needs.…
We had 5 great days staying in this 5 stars + resort. Great location close to black forest main attractions. Super service and facilities. Don't miss the park with the animals. The restaurant has Michlen standards. Very recomended
Our stay could not have been better. The food was better than we expected, the grounds were perfectly-kept, the staff was friendly and spoke English perfectly. The room was even better than in the photos. We plan to return. Thank you!
This is a nice hotel in a beautiful location in the Black Forest, with lots of possibilities for walks and excursions. It also has a great wellness area, with indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzis and treatment options. The design needs getting used to - it combines a traditional local style with some supposedly modern design that is entirely over the top. And for being a rather expensive place, the service is limited. There is no iron to be had - we would have had to take our clothes to a neighbouring building with a designated ironing room. The standout, though, was the strictness of the dinner times. The included four-star menu is only available if you come before 20:30 - even though the brochures say 21:00, which is early enough - and asking questions about this, the rules were explained to us in a tone appropriate for a 19th century governess.…
Overall, the most wonderful relaxing stay in a beautiful area of the back forest perfect for exploring the wider Black Forest and only 1 hour from border or both France (Lovely Colmar) and Switzerland for further exploring. 30 minutes from the beautiful German university city of Freiburg. Lots to see in the area and Hinterzarten is a pretty village. Would love to go again, what may seem an initial high cost, is good value because of all that is included and the very high standards and comfort of the hotel. Staff: friendly unobtrusive, thoughtful, speak English if needed, house keepers were great and so kind, ensuring a watch I left behind got back to me via my parents when I left for a couple of days travel to Bavaria. Room: I stayed in a deluxe single which had a marble bathroom with full bath and shower over bath, bed area and lounge area with soft seats, table and desk/writing area and a large terrace with lounger overlooking the hotel park and swimming pool. Lovely touches, bathrobe and slippers in room for spa, good toiletries, hairdryer. Food and drink: The hotel provides good value for money for a 5 star hotel, all food is included, extensive breakfast, light lunch (salad, soup, a small choice of hot food) with mineral water, afternoon tea (sandwiches, variety of cakes) with hot drinks and sparkling wine, and 4 course evening meal (only time when drinks need to be paid for). The mini bar in the room is free and water, soft drink, apples juice, beer, pretzels and an apple are provided free daily. I have coeliac and felt so well catered for with all staff (even those I hadn’t met before) aware and proactively provided the correct food and advised. The hotel also provided a free substantial packed lunch on the last day and a small welcome gift and departing gift. Hotel and grounds: main hotel area and older Black Forest house with outside seating. Lots of seating dotted around hotel park. Small really comfortable internal lounge area behind reception overlooking the park where afternoon tea is served inside. Lovely large park at rear of hotel with various seating areas, table tennis, badminton, children play area, lots of grass, loungers, little areas to explore, small pond, goats! Lovely swimming pools internal and external and spa and relaxation areas inside and outside, hot tub outside, great free car park outside in the hotel grounds as well as paid for inside car park (which doesn’t seem to be needed, felt very safe leaving car in outside car park) I would so highly recommend a stay here! Thank you to all the staff, reception, housekeeping staff and restaurant staff…
Super friendly staff, lovely meals, great facilities, boundless hospitality, clean and spacious (family) room. The swimming pool was very popular with the kids. It was also very nice that we really felt children were genuinely welcome and their needs were also taken into consideration. We enjoyed a wonderful time im Schwarzwald!
Great hotel with fantastic facilities. We stayed 3 nights just after Christmas for a short ski break in Feldberg. We stayed with a familiy of 4 in a suite where the sitting area was turned into additional bedroom. We had an amazing full board experience and good service. Only minus: the bathroom had no shower.
