This hotel is ideally situated just adjacent to the old town which is easily walkable. It is a smart, well run, establishment and some of the rooms have views of the castle. However this does mean that your room is likely to be on the main road which is quite busy. Service is good and the staff helpful. Our room was bright with high quality traditional furnishings and a small shower room. The bed was comfortable with soft pillows. The hotel has its own car park with direct access. It was secure and is a bonus as parking in the old town is near impossible. The breakfasts were served in a formal fashion which made a delightful start to the day - think white table cloths, well dressed staff, plates of meat and cheese. The place is rather quiet and there is no bar or congregating area. There is a drinks menu and you could enjoy a glass overlooking the castle (and car park) or in the dining room. So don't expect a busy social scene here.

We stayed here for the second time and again we liked our stay very much. The central location and the nice view of the castle was unchanged. Fortunately the current situation had also little impact on our visit - one should mention the excellent breakfast served at the table by a very efficient and motivated staff. We will be back - hopefully at better times!

Nice hotel, beautifully decorated, and superb breakfast with made-to-order additions. Good location with free parking on property incl. two e-car stations. Elevator from parking level to all rooms. Friendly & accommodating staff.

Not all rooms advertised as “room with castle view” have a castle view. Over the years trees have grown blocking some rooms from the best views (see room recommendations).

Highly recommended!

A great place to stay in Werningerode. we were travelling by train and the hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from the station. It is also nearer to the town centre and the castle. An excellent hotel with good breakfast in a pleasant setting, with competent staff. This is a first choice for a stay in the town.
We used the narrow gauge railway every day to explore the area. the maniline and narrow gauge stations are adjacent.

I got a very small room with a very small room, but apart from this, I had no reason to complain. Good location close to Old Town (but not too close, so there was no noise from the festival on the Old Market) and reasonably close to the Castle.

From outside this hotel looks more lime a big old spa building but its interior corresponds with its name. It really looks like a palace and make a luxury impression. My room was clean, warm and quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast rich and delicious. As a hotel guest I got a free bus ticket. I was very satisfied and truly recommend this hotel.

Excellent location to visit old town Wernigerode. We loved our stay here. Our hotel room was a bit dated but very clean. The bathroom was adorable with pink tile. Our room had a view of the castle. The staff was super friendly (spoke English) and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, served in a charming dining room.
Parking is plentiful on site and free. Hotel has an elevator.

We spent 2-nights here and everything was wonderful.

This hotel must have recently been completely refurbished as it is very nicely decorated in a traditional style, very clean and attractive. There is a large car park with 2 electric charging points. The staff are nice and breakfast was enjoyable with good coffee though only hot offering was egg. Our room was comfortable and well appointed with excellent view of the castle. The hotel location is perfect for the castle, town centre and steam railway (Westerntor station). On the negative side the rooms don’t have ac which means having the windows open in summer and the road outside is surprisingly noisy all the time. The hotel only provides breakfast but rooms have a fridge with very reasonable priced drinks in them which makes a pleasant change. If it wasn’t for the noise it would easily get an excellent rating.

I have visited Wernigerode so many times and tried this hotel for the first time. Everything was superb. Most amazing shower in bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. It is a little out of the centre in Johann sebastain Bachstrasse. I had thought that to be where Albert Bartles Strasse is. My mistake but everyone very kind
