Travelling as part of a group, we stayed at the hotel during the German school holidays. There were a couple of German tour groups using the hotel at the same time and the evening meal times were staggered to deal with the large number of guests. The reception staff were welcoming and spoke very good English. The bedroom was comfortable...

This is a large modern hotel accommodating large groups. The rooms are quite adequate, we had a bath/shower. The food is buffet style and provides a good choice apart from desserts which were mainly mousses. The staff are very effective and our electricity went off one morning, which we reported before breakfast and by the time we had eaten breakfast...

We stayed at this hotel as an organised group from UK for the Christmas Markets. The hotel, however, mostly caters for internal German tourists on visits to the Harz Mountains and was very busy. The hotel is large, centrally located and has many rooms. The reception staff mostly speak English and were generally helpful, if at times a bit aloof....

We stayed here for 4 days on a Great Rail Journey tour. We had a nice room with a lovely view of the castle and mountains. Very clean, quiet and comfortable, but no tea and coffee making facilities that us Brits love. The buffet style dining for breakfast and dinner was excellent, and the food choice very good. We also...

We stayed 4 nights on a Great Rail tour. Very impressed with the quality: great food and plenty of choice, comfortable rooms, wifi. Some staff were a little abrupt, but hey ho, others were lovely. The hotel is conveniently located for access to the beautiful town (superb apple strudel!) and the steam trains.

Arrived at the Hotel to be greeted by well dressed and polite staff. Our room at the front of the hotel on the 3rd floor had a mezzanine floor lounge. The bedroom was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. There were 2 restaurants which served a very wide range of food. Breakfasts were a serve yourself buffet...

We were travelling with a large group. Check in was quick and our luggage was effectively taken to our rooms. This is a large hotel with long corridors all converging on three busy lifts - the stairs seem only to be there for use in a fire evacuation. The décor is modern in a 1970s fashion with carpets designed to...

We stayed here for seven nights and booked months ago direct with the hotel as my husband had stayed there before. Our room was located directly above the main hotel entrance. As a result we were constantly disturbed during the night with passing traffic on the cobbled streets and in the morning with coach parties coming and going. The main...

I'd anticipated that hotels in the former east of Germany would lag behind those in the former west. Far from it. The rooms were spacious and spotless. The dining room offered a wide choice of quality and tasty food at both breakfast and dinner. The staff were helpful and incredibly friendly. I'd warmly recommend this.

The comfortable modern hotel is near the center of town and does a very good job for groups. They provide private areas, the buffet, both breakfast and dinner is excellent, much better than I recall in any hotel anywhere. For example, various herring dishes, venison stew, even rote grutze among the variety of desserts. Service is very good. Room is...
