Been in the hotel for 1 night. First to find the hotel by your car navigation is a nightmare. Its not the fault of the hotel but they can advise their customers. Wellness is very nice and free to use. After a nice meal in the city we wanted to go for a drink in the bar but this ended...

We could not have stayed in a more centrally located place... easy walking to trains and buses. Despite being in the market place our pleasant room - good bed and bathroom - was quiet and peaceful. The only small criticism I have is no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and limited room service. Great breakfast spread...

We were 4 couples staying in this hotel, with several rooms, attending a wedding. The breakfast was wonderful, the location as well, but we all found the rooms a little small and dated for the high price. Service at the front desk was also not as expected for a high class hotel. It was not possible for them to find...

The ancient hotel in the stunning square is absolutely beautiful outside and elegant inside . As it was full we had a room , very comfortable , but in the new part with no views but we had a magnificent breakfast overlooking the square. The stuff is kind and helpful. You must park in their parking as the village is...

Wonderful place to rest and to enjoy it. The staff are nice and profesional. The piano bar is a place you must visit. The room was perfect clean. The hotel is in the center of the town and the decoration make you dream that you are in a magic place

Very comfortable air conditioned room. Superb breakfast. Hotel very comfortable ans staff were very helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but in 2 of the adjacent restaurants along the edge of the square. Town center is very attractive and pedestrians only. Hotel has an adjacent multi-story paying car park with discount for guests. Advisable to get directions before...

As the reviews say, a fine hotel in the market place of this pretty little town. It's about 12 minutes walk from the main station or 11 Euro by cab. The rooms are a good size, ours were configured as triples and there was plenty of space. Well equipped bathrooms. There was air con (not needed in May) but I...

Totally first class amenities and location. I would certainly rate this hotel among the best I have experienced in Germany. Attentive staff, easy check-in and out. Modern well appointed room and fabulous spa facilities made for a bit of rest and luxury. The location in the pedestrian area made for some pleasant window shopping and people watching and there are...

On long weekends the TouringCyclists often go hiking and the Harz region is one good option not too far away. Over many years the Gothisches Haus has been our favourite place to stay. Fantastic hotel at the market square, hidden behind historic facades. Excellent service and friendly staff who never minds a smile, extensive breakfast buffet and perfect dinners. Just...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When you see the half-timbered facade of the listed building of the 4 star superior Travel Charme Gothisches Haus you instantly feel the magic of this hotel located directly at Wernigerode's historic market place. Longstanding tradition combined with innovation: from the very first moment you enter in the Travel Charme Gothisches Haus you are captured by a warm and light atmosphere. In the winter garden, the dark wood of the half-timbered building and its medieval forms and ornaments combine with the large glass dome to form an airy, light-filled room where you can enjoy your extended breakfast in the morning. The rooms, some of them historic, are individually designed with all conveniences of a high-class and modern hotel. "Die Stuben" restaurant offers a wide selection of culinary creations in a pleasant atmosphere full of light, colours and comfort. The "Winkeller 1360" is the right place for wine lovers: an impressive selection of wines embedded in a noble-rustic setting. Last but not least let yourself be pampered from head to toe at the PURIA Spa. ... more   less
