Excellent guest house that I would return to if I was in the area again. Everything about it is just perfect from the breakfast to the dinner to the wine and the general family atmosphere. It's not situated in Oberwesel but just outside up a hill so don't expect a view of the Rhine. This could be an advantage though as it's very quiet. Our dog was welcomed. Excellent in terms of comfort and cleanliness as well. Great base to explore the area and there is a nearby car ferry (5-10 mins) to get to the other side of the river. One of my favourite places on my European trip.

A great place for a stopover with good traditional food and cosy family atmosphere. Settled in a quiet village not far from the busy highways. Clean , fresh and friendly with a history of hospitality over many years . This non heard of country place gives you a treat that many famous boutique hotels would be very envious about. Gasthaus Weingut should be a destination for all hospitalty schools to learn about how to provide service and good feeling among guests .

So lucky to have booked in here on our travels through Germany. A wonderful welcome awaited us by Aunty who was quite a character. The room with balcony was very comfortable and quiet. The restaurant although busy was great to experience, the food very German and tasty. Staff were so friendly, breakfast was magnificent with so much choice, homemade cakes, omelettes meats, fruit, and the lovely lady who made sure we had everything we needed. Truly a family run business lots of care and attention to detail, Glad we were here for our wedding anniversary it made it special.

We have stayed here on a couple of previous occasions and this remains one of our our favourites. Last month’s visit was no exception. The traditional style, high standard of the rooms, the exceptional quality of the food and wines, relaxed atmosphere and rural location just make this place so special. Paul and his wife are such lovely people and the whole family and staff always make us feel so welcome. And not forgetting Crista who is amazing with her wonderful breakfasts ! It is always very sad to leave Gasthaus Stahl and we look forward to returning.

This was our favorite place we stayed in Germany. The rooms are large and clean. Bathrooms are modern with great water pressure. The breakfast is like none we’ve ever seen - homemade cakes and pastries, eggs any way you like, wonderful breads, a large array of fruits, and any form of coffee you want. The patio is a great place to enjoy a meal or glass of wine. Our favorite aspect, however, were our hosts - incredibly warm, welcoming, and fun. All 7 of us give it our highest recommendation!!

I booked this guest house as we needed to stop over somewhere on our long drive back to the UK and I had always wanted to go to the Rhine. This turned out to be one of our favourite stays after a 2 week tour through Europe. As has been previously mentioned, its a very friendly, clean place to stay. The breakfast is just amazing and the owners and staff are all great hosts. There are lovely walks nearby as well as a castle you can visit within walking distance. The highlight was being "let loose" in the cellar on our second night, it was just unfortunate we had an early night and long drive home the next day! The wines were lovely and challenged my perception of Reisling. This is a lovely area and we would love to return.

We are so lucky to have found this gem to stay on our trip. It is one of the if not the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. They we so kind and loving to our 2 month old and very friendly to us. The breakfast is amazing with a wide selection and delicious hot chocolate. For the price this place cannot be beat and we hope to return one day.

We have stayed here a few times and the comments in my previous review still stand. We really enjoy coming back to this place for its location, near the lovely town of Oberwesel, the great breakfasts and the warm friendly atmosphere. Though the hotel is about two miles from Oberwesel it only takes 30 minutes to walk down the hill, where about halfway down there are great views over the Rhine. You can always get a taxi back up the hill, or walk it and burn if a few of the calories left over from breakfast!

The owners of Weingut are the sweetest people ever. The b&b is run by a family and the property has been in the family for a long time! When we first arrived I was nervous because it was farther from Bacharach than I thought. But the food was to die for and the atmosphere felt so welcoming that I didn't even want to leave! The included breakfast was amazing with home made cakes and eggs and endless options. The cook woke up at 4am to start making those cakes. Seriously where else can you get an experience like that? The dinners where so delicious an tasted like home cooked meals with quality ingredients. The room was extremely clean. Like meticulously-cleaned-with-a-q-tip sort of clean. I love this b&b so much and wish I knew how to speak German so I could get to know the owners more!!

There is a welcoming vibe at this old-school Gasthaus that has been recently renovated. Paul, the owner/manager attends to the guests and the staff (pretty much round the clock - it seemed he was around 24/7! - must help that he lives there, too!) with friendliness, patience and efficiency. He made us feel like old friends. The rooms are spacious, clean and new. It also is a great value. The location is just above the town of Oberwesel, very convenient for exploring the Rhine area. The breakfast is plentiful (and the hostess will certainly make sure you get enough to eat!), and it seems there is a 1/2 board option that includes dinner. One of the other guests said it was about an extra 8E a person, well worth it. We ended up eating dinner there 2 of the 3 nights we stayed -- which turned out to be a good option. One of the most interesting aspects of our stay was the people we met in the breakfast and dinner area. Most guests were open and friendly, and we were easily able to strike up conversations with those that spoke English, and even some that didn't ;-) . We were very surprised that there were no other Americans, and Paul said that he typically doesn't get many Americans.... Americans, you're missing out! We would highly recommend the Gasthaus Stahl for your next visit to Germany! Brasileiros -- a familia fala portugues... vai sentir-se em casa!
