The hotel is in towncentre and a bit up on the hill from the lake but it does have some great views. There is a balcony at the restaurant where you have great lakeviews. A part is walled by glass so you're not in a cold wind. They have a sunroof too so when the sun is out you have... More

Very nice hotel in a very nice village, but utterly dead: where does everyone go at night? I arrived here on a Sunday as a stopover before heading for Freiburg. The room was good but expensive, especially as it was out of season. And why do German hotels provide 14" TV's? I've never seen one so small since the 1950's.... More

We stayed here for a winter weekend and it was perfect. Really close to the lake (Schulchsee), in the main square of town. Several restaurants close by. Staff was really friendly. It will be a great place for the summer when you can really enjoy the lake. During winter you can enjoy the snow surroundings and go for easy walks... More

We stayed in this hotel in the heart of Schluchsee for 4 nights after leaving our previous hotel (in the same village) and the car becoming stranded in the snow. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room (135 euros per night with breakfast) was fairly basic, but clean and large. The breakfast was good and the food... More

I stayed at Schiff Schluchsee several times when my children were both so small. I was suprised to have been invited to write a review about this lovely hotel. I was also glad to see the photos and to read the reviews to see that it' s still a cozy hotel with a great view to the lake and a... More

This is an attractive hotel on the main village square in Schluchsee. The interior is also pleasant, in a typical Black Forest style (also reflected in the staff dress). There is a large restaurant, as well as a bar and separate breakfast room. The food in the restaurant was very good, with large portions, though not cheap. The breakfast buffet... More

Comfortable room- a pity there wasn't a kettle to make tea/coffee. The double beds are in fact two singles alongside eachother). Parking right outside the hotel. Friendly staff, good food, nice view of the lake and surrounding forest. There's a small indoor swimming pool and also a sauna. Dressing gowns are provided in the rooms- you need to bring your... Stopped here for lunch during a tour of the Black Forest. Good range of dishes on the menu with some local dishes. Service was good even though they were rather busy and the terrace was full. Make sure you opt to eat outside as the view from the terrace is wonderful. Will keep coming back!

The Hotel Schiff is wonderfully situated overlooking Lake Schluchsee. Rooms overlook the lake and which is so peaceful. (One warning is that the church bells ring the Angelus at 7am, so be prepared be woken if you're at that end of the hotel) The breakfast was plentiful and served with good cheer helping the day to start really well.
