I read about the brewery and the Gasthaus in a brewing magazine, so I decided to pay a visit to them. As for the Gasthaus price is way to high. It seems that the owners in the last period didn't improve anything, they just profit from the fame of the place. We booked a Kaisersuite for 125 €. Room was... More

Loved staying in this historic hotel with remodeled, themed rooms. Landlady very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, she only speaks German, but I had sufficient tourist knowledge of German to converse with her. Glad we stayed here on our way back to Frankfurt. Restaurant next door also has great food.

Very clean and comfortable. The staff speaks no English but they are very helpful and worked to make sure that we understood what they were saying. The room we had was a suite with a terrace on the back side that made for very spacious and comfortable quarters. Breakfast, included in the price of the room, included meats, cheeses, juice... Located right in he middle town, on the main shopping street, this place is ideal when visiting the town. It has a super restaurant and service and food is very good. Historically, it's suppose to be the oldest inn in Europe, dating back to the 12th century. But you'd never know it from inside. Very up to date (except for... More

The room was clean and comfortable. I was very disappointed that there was no WiFi anywhere in this hotel. Fortunately there was free WiFi at the bookstore down the street from the hotel we were able to use. A couple of inconveniences was there was no hairdryer and not a soul in the hotel spoke any English. I would probably... More

Miltenberg is really picture postcard. This hotel where we had the Carnival Bier was great. Didn't have time to sample the food, but it looked tasty. Elvis slept here when doing national service and they are still very proud that he came here.

Right in the middle of town it is said to be the oldest drinking establishment in Europe. Of cause we had to partake of a few of the local beers because of this fact. It is frequented by locals and tourists alike with its outside seating. Very attractive to look at and easy to find.worth the look if only for... More

Allowing for the fact that the tavern/restaurant on the bottom floor of the Haus zum Riesen is not owned by the hotel operator, this venerable building still functions as a gasthaus. This means that, among other things, you can have a meal or a drink here without renting lodging. Who wouldn’t want to spend at least a little time in... More

We were delighted with our stay at the Haus zum Riesen. Our room was very large with a view of the main street in Miltenberg. The history of the hotel is interesting. The rooms are restored, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is small but adequate, the breakfast was good, there is an elevator, and the location is excellent. The... More

I've been staying at the Riesen since 1999. This is one of my favorite hotels in all of Germany and in the top ten of my favorite hotels in Europe. Authentic, old, beautifully decorated with plenty of personal charm. The couple who run it are NOT Jewish, as one poster said. What looks like the Star of David hanging from... More
