The hotel's website mentions a free shuttle from Frankfurt airport to the hotel and a €3 charge for the way back. This was a determining criteria for hotel selection during my transit in Frankfurt. On arrival at the airport I call the hotel to know what time is the next shuttle and I find out that there is no shuttle service during the Covid crisis but that fortunately the driver is on his way to the airport to drop a customer so he can pick me up. Hum okay, it all ends well. Check in was great, the clerk was polite and professional with amazing customer skills. Unfortunately he also mentions that the shuttle to the airport is €13 at the moment but that if there are several persons on the shuttle we will split the cost. Hum okay why not. Upon check out, not only the clerk (different one from check in) charges me €13 for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel but also charges me €13 from the hotel to the airport even though there are two other customers on the ride. I go back to the reception and ask the clerk why the fare is not cheaper as the other clerk had said earlier and he got really upset and dismissive, just saying 'It is Covid what do you expect'? Well I expect that the hotel is not lying to its customers to attract them there and that the hotel is not capitalizing on a pandemic ! The only other thing the clerk said is 'I can cancel the shuttle and call you a taxi if you prefer; As if anybody would do this (time wasted and maybe money on top) and I was stupid. If I had known I was going to be charged €26 just on shuttle I would have used that money to book a hotel closer to the airport at a walkable distance. This is what I call racket. Forcing people into forking unexpected and unpublished charges. Shameful !

I was referred to the Mercure Hotel Frankfurt Airport because the IBIS hotel closed and canceled my reservation. I flew to the US the following morning. I took a taxi from Frankfurt Airport/train station to the Mercure. The driver was aggressive, drove like a maniac, made anti US comments threatened to take my luggage becauseI didn't have exact change to pay the fare. I wanted to get change from the reception and he became more aggressive. He angrily made change. I took a picture of his license plate. I will defend myself against these criminals. When I checked in, I asked the desk clerk to call the local polizei and he was reluctant and snarky until I made it clear that the driver was dangerous and could cause an accident and kill someone. Both had foreign backgrounds. I had to request a room where the air conditioning worked. Other than the incident with the driver, the desk clerk was ok and had a meaningful conversation about challenges during COVID 19 restrictions and its impact on the economy. I was one of three guests at the hotel. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was satisfactory with good service. I was charged 13 Euro to take the shuttle bus to the airport. For some reason, the driver gave me an earful about my attitude so I refused to tip him and had nothing to say to him. Under normal conditions, this hotel is probably ok. However, at this time due to world protests over the police and racism, I don't recommend that Americans stay there for safety reasons. nor should they use taxis at Frankfurt Airport. I will gladly return to the friendly, welcoming IBIS hotel next door when it opens again for guests. Until then, I will book a room at one of the hotels at the airport though much more expensive but safer.

I stayed one night and everything was good. One of the lowest priced hotel and about 10 min bus ride. The front desk was friendly and efficient. The room was small but clean. I slept well. There is a water boiler and instant coffee in the room. Only 3 euro for the round trip (free to the hotel, 3 euro to the airport). Quite lively at the bar and the restaurant as many people were hanging out.

I stayed here for one night, as had a business meeting in the airport area. Very handy location and the staff were all very helpful. Check-In was fast and no issues, bar was lively in the evening as there football on. The room was quiet basic but nice, coffee machine was good and the mini bar was free of charge which was a nice bonus.

Not impressed, lower quality than others Mercure hotels. Paint peeling off thé wall, bathroom used just before our arrival. Voucher for drink appreciated as always but limited really limited, beds configuration was wrong and lot of mistakes on our booking details.

Dear "chevalierfranck", thanks for taking the time to review. I apologize that we could not realize your expectations. We are aware that due to age, the hotel is not comparable to the newly built competitors. Unfortunately, the age of some areas appears to be "dirty". A planning regarding this is ongoing. Hope to welcome you again and to get a second chance in the future with additional the right room configuration. Sincerely, Volker S. - Hotel Manager
