I stayed here for only one night and enjoyed the visit. The hotel is situated in the main starret of the old town and there is plenty to see just walking around. It is also not far from the Austrian border, so would be a good stop over if traveling to Austria. The local mountain is supposedly the longest in... More

Well, I have stayed at many fine luxury hotels around the world, but never in a 500 year old hotel. From the minute you open the huge (and heavy) wooden door, you get the feeling of centuries of history and stories in this hotel. The restaurant on the first floor is small but I did enjoy an excellent variety of... More

My husband and I recently stayed in this lovely 500yr old hotel which is situated in the old part of town. Our room was very nice...large and modern with a very comfortable kingsize bed and feather pillows and large bathroom with bath. Our room was at the back of the hotel and we had a fantastic view of the castle.... More

This place is really great. I was on the top floor. The room is modern and ecclectic in a way that it's not out of place for the overall age and feel of the hotel. Very nice and modern bathroom. Plenty of lighting if you happen to be there for work as I was. Internet was acceptable for business purposes.... More

Stayed in modern room 136 on the top floor at the back of the 500 year old hotel. Had a great view of the castle from our window and the bed was a magnificent king size! Being on the top floor we had to carry our heavy luggage up 3 flights of stair as there's no lift but this was... More

Stayed four nights in this beautifully located small, family-run, hotel. It is in the old town square immediatey below the famous castle. The staff are extremely friendly (my faltering German was appreciated but I received good English in return from them!), the rooms are comfortable and very practical and the evening meals are very good traditional local cuisine.

Lovely old building located in the centre of a delightful town. Welcoming, happy staff who spoke good English. Really nice selection of hot and cold food for breakfast. Our room was of modern décor, welcoming and clean and overlooking the town square. Very nice modern bathroom and good towels. We had free parking under the square (in March). The pedestrian... More

We have stayed at the Hotel Post several times since our first visit in 1999 and have always been happy there. The Mitterer family are extremely friendly and outgoing - and always made us feel comfortable and welcome- even with our poor German skills! For a 500 year old hotel, the place is wonderfully traditional, but still sports most modern... More
