I am writing this review after my second visit to Hotel Jagdhof this summer, and I am coming back again definitely!
The hotel has a lovely location surrounded by green mountains, where you can enjoy the fresh air.

The hotel has a traditional German interior and exterior designs, you will definitely enjoy the vibes and the relaxing feeling. Personally, I enjoyed the live music in the evenings and the amazing food that I had during my stay, the quality of food is really amazing, and very tasty!!! Chefs were very nice and came to talk to the guests from time to time aiming to satisfy our taste! Add to that the service was very nice and professional as well!

The rooms were very clean and very quiet! The Spa was great as well!

The hotel can be reached best by a car, and it is perfect for a romantic weekend’s getaway, or for a weekend with family.

Highly recommend and very special!

This is a warm, friendly hotel with lovely staff, situated in a beautiful part of the country. Highly dog-friendly, with log fires and great views. The restaurant is excellent and our chef, Marco, came out to speak to us every evening to discuss the next evening's meal. The cuisine was of the highest quality, varied and exciting. With the exception of one surly and unhelpful waiter (there is always one!) every staff member was genuinely friendly, with nothing being too much trouble.

The spa, whilst small, is elegant and cozy. My wife had two excellent therapeutic massages from their in-house masseur, who, I believe, trained as a physio.

We also had some really amazing walks through the forest with our dog, the hotel being surrounded by woodland. Their marketing promotes this as a cozy, magical place - and it truly is.

Perfect rustic one night stop. The hotel offers a cozy atmosphere in the style of a hunting lodge. The small pool is well decorated and comfortable. Lovely garden. Bikes are available to travel in the nearby wood but only 3 are available. Food is very typical but the lobster was delicious. Extra nice restaurant service.

This evaluation must be understood in the context of the prices in the hunting yard.
There are apparently regulars here who have been coming here for many years and decades, and presumably that's why everything has stopped in time - and some of the wear and tear may not actually be seen anymore. The house thrives on the historical basic substance, a lot of, partly exuberant hunting decoration in a wild mix of colors and patterns. And the friendly staff. What is fulfilled in terms of family ambience, however, lacks contemporary furnishings, cleanliness and professionalism.

We stayed here as a family over Christmas and had a suite and two double rooms. A room was nice with new bathroom. One room was nice with terrible bathroom (old, but also stained and broken joints). The suite was gloomy: Spotty old carpets and the beds of the second bedroom simple upholstered loungers. Overall, the rooms were only average, though heavily decorated.

The Christmas menu was on the 24th with no recognisable common thread except for the claim that it was national staff dishes. Two fried courses of four was really not okay. The next few days better, but no highlights. Except for the oysters, at breakfast, on New Year's Eve - if you want to eat oysters full, this is the place.

Overall we left earlier than planned and paid, only one person came back to the New Year's Eve menu to give the arrangement one last chance.

Conclusion: Everything would be fine for half the price. But this is how the house must be compared to the Kempinski in Berchtesgaden, for example, and there are worlds in between, in every respect: Cleanliness, service, facilities, spa, views, food, rooms etc.

We wish the owners many more years with the existing tribe of customers, but feel more comfortable even in more modern houses (despite hunting license and a soft spot for historic hotels).

What we would advise to attract a younger audience:

- Immediate renovation of the partly still very old bathrooms, until then significant adjustment of the prices for the affected rooms
- Thorough cleaning or renewal of carpets
- Let some fresh eyes go through the house, even we noticed many little things that could be made more pleasant without a big investment.
- USB charging stations
- Do not leave outdated trouser presses in the rooms, which only have antique value, but proper ironing boards per room
- If this is too expensive, do not let the guests drag a rental ironing board around the house themselves
- Rethink menu design and perhaps give the young chef more freedom

Breakfast was good!

We had a wonderful short trip to the magnificent Jagdhof. The location is uniquely quiet, the hotel's interior is very detailed and the rooms are very comfortable. A big compliment to all the staff: everyone is extremely friendly and always attentive to the guests. Our special thanks go to Mr. Schürrer, who always looked after all the guests and their concerns and also checked the smoke detectors in the evening. Our conclusion: everything was simply TOP!!!

We have booked 2 rooms here with Travelzoo. The settlement was very friendly, however we were surprised by the energy cost surcharge. Yes, there used to be, but in times of sharply decreasing energy costs, this is no longer appropriate. The house is equipped overboard with hunting utensils, pillows and the like. Nice job. Staff very friendly and always dressed coherently. Breakfast dwarfs everything you have experienced so far. Even the evening meal is super delicious and nicely arranged. Our room was very nice and quality furnished. To the bathroom was a window with a frosted glass pane installed. Daylight did not arrive in the bathroom, however, the bright lighting from the bathroom has superfluously illuminated the room at night when going to the toilet. Don't have to be!! The swimming pool very small, the loungers in the sauna area very scarce. Saturday at 5 pm the sauna was actually cold, as probably no guest expressed interest in visiting the sauna until then. I then saved myself the 30 minute waiting time and asked myself the question of what the energy cost surcharge is needed for.

We wanted to honor a voucher that was a present for me four years ago. I was sick for over a year and afterwards we could not travel due to the Corona Crisis.
Therefore the latest chance to convert the voucher was now in Summer 2023. We reserved two rooms in the Jagdhof and had the bill with the confirmation of the payment of the voucher and the voucher number as an evidence in baggage. The stay was pleasant and the hotel was great (as we knew it from former times). The rooms were upgraded and the bathroom was new and very clean.
The meals were splendid even if the breakfast was smaller than in former times.
The bad experience we made was that the hotel did not accept the bill of the voucher as an evidence that the voucher was still existing and hat not already been honored. We are regular guests well known for nearly 20 years at the Jagdhof. We had to pay the whole bill and had to promise to look for the Original voucher at home to send it by postal service to the Jagdhof. In this case they would restitute the costs of the hotel rooms.
We are very disappointed about this behaviour. At home I immediately found the voucher and send it to Jagdhof Glashütte. Now are waiting for the restitution... but I think we will never be guests of Jagdhof Glashütte again.

To start the new year, we chose the Hotel Jagdhof so that we could start the year in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy culinary delights. We were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine on the house, which we drank by the large fireplace with an open fire. As I don't drink sparkling wine, I chose the local pilsner. Our country style room with balcony left nothing to be desired. The snack by the fireplace was hearty. We enjoyed it. For dinner in the hunting rooms, the Serbian chef Petar Popovic served us a fillet Wellington in a puff pastry coating, which he personally cut up at the table. This dish is definitely of star quality. Wife Alexandra Popovic rounds off the good service elegantly with the sub. The host, Mr Dornhöfer, then treated us to a delicious Williams pear brandy on the house. We then rounded off the evening in the bar with cognac and cocktails. The booked breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes all the delicacies you could wish for, from roast beef to salmon, from vodka to beer and sparkling wine. My tip: Egg Benedict. As we left, we were given travel provisions in the form of water and house-brand sparkling wine. Very thoughtful. The sauna and the large indoor pool round off the very good overall impression. The entire hotel is very rustic and comfortably furnished. It radiates a lot of warmth and cordiality. The hygiene and cleanliness of the entire complex is very good. We were given a warm welcome and will definitely come back soon.

For the first time, we were able to spend a fabulous weekend in the beautiful Jagdhof Glashütte. Everything is very lovingly furnished!
Very cozy and romantic. We felt comfortable from the first second! Quiet location on the edge of the forest. Nice facility. Parking spaces are all great! Also for large SUVs.
Relaxation starts immediately when you turn into the quiet village street (dead end/no through traffic, wonderful)
A big compliment to the entire staff (from the reception/the restaurant/and especially to the team this morning at the breakfast buffet, just great!) Everyone was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Were very spoiled! Gastronomy is alive here! Great class!!!! Here you feel welcome and in very good hands.
From the warm welcome with welcome champagne by the fireplace, surprise basket in the room with fresh fruit and chocolate bunnies, to Easter eggs and a pampering program at the breakfast table...
The suitcases were carried for us…
The room was lovingly and comfortably decorated! The bathroom is a dream, large and spacious, with lots of extras from shampoo, cosmetics to a cozy bathrobe and stylish checked slippers, a bedtime story on the bed, a personal letter addressed to us.
Extra pillows, extra blankets if needed.
All-round feel-good package!
Even a backpack and umbrella are available for every guest
The restaurant
Upscale class, had an excellent meal! Here you can pamper your senses! Wonderful! Ambience great. Peaceful and harmonious.
I definitely recommend several nights, lots of things to discover and time to enjoy. We would like to come back again so that we can use the swimming pool and the spa in a more relaxed way!

Absolute recommendation!!!

We look forward to a reunion

We spent just two nights in der Jagdhof and enjoyed all time. The attentive staff made us feel welcome every minute. The beautiful setting, great restaurant, well furnished room, great beds, but most importantly the staff all contributed to a wonderful experience. We will be sure to be back in winter because we have to see this place in the snow. The Germans know how to celebrate Christmas.
