Hotel Garni Rubihaus much like the town of Oberstdorf it’s located in could be a great setting for a Stephen King novel. Its nestled neatly in the lush inviting green Bavarian mountains surrounded on gray days by low hanging misty clouds. The hotel has neatly wide tiled balconies with a typical overhanging German style gingerbread wooden roof.
There are exceptional views on the upper floors. One side the building faces the town and the other the mountains. Either side is great, especially when you awakened from a short nap by the deep hypnotizing chimes echoing from the town clock. ( note: sleep with your window open its like being in a scene from The Sound of Music even though that was filmed in nearby Austria ) The porcelain baby dolls and other remnants of what could be from the German home shopping channel are scattered at various parts through out the hotel. They just add to the strange aura of the place a la movie drama scenes.
