Enjoy your stay in Goslar!
We visited this place during a trip across Germany; from the border of Switzerland up to Sylt and Flensburg and back. We stayed in the beautiful Goslar. The Hotel alte Münze is located in the old town. The rooms are located in several old buildings. We got a big room in the main building. You are in the shopping area within a 50m walk. We liked the style and how they refurbish the building. Very nice.
Stayed their twice in June and July and can only say the best. When I saw it first, I wanted to run away but when they showed me the rooms, all was good. Take the better category, so you will have space and you will feel well. Good restaurant also, excellent breakfast and very nice and helpful staff, from the reservation manager to the waiters, they all show that they care for their customers. Rare in this area!
We were on a road trip in northern Germany looking for headstones of German ancestors when we stumbled upon this great little hotel. Goslar is one of the most authentic towns you will find in Germany and the hotel is in one of the historic half-timber buildings, but with essential modern conveniences. It was perfect, great location and excellent service despite Coronavirus- precautionary measures. Would definitely return.
Out of the two weeks we spent in Germany and Belgium, I think staying here and hiking up the Brocken were the top moments. This hotel is beautiful, larger than you would expect, and full of personality. The hotel buildings are a snapshot of the constructions you find around the region, with walls and windows that meet at not quite right angles. We loved the little pub that is almost hidden from sight and is perfect for a little night cap. The bartender was super nice. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and probably the best we had out of many hotels we stayed in. The room was comfy and spacious, and just the right temperature, considering it was still winter. I don't think I could pick a different place to stay if I came back to Goslar!
The hotel consists of a couple of buildings, all in the same style as the rest of Goslar, I e half timbered houses. Our charming room had a quaint leaning floor yet everything was made with high finish and quality. Especially the bathroom impressed with its style, finish and quality. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of people but there are also plenty of seats so no need to wait for a seat. Perfectly located in the very centre of Goslar. We even managed to get a parking space via the hotel.
