This hotel must have the absolute best positioning in town, being in the middle of the fortress and overlooking the Danube just under it. It also has a historical look & feel, which I liked, so the potential is huge. That being said, the inside of the room was terribly disappointing by comparison with the rest (and here experiences may differ, since some floors looked more fancy than others). I believe the room was likely a standard business room, and while the bed was actually comfy and ok, some things were just wrong: no heating working in the room except air conditioning which couldn’t keep up; when I asked front desk to check, the solution was to bring in an electric heater. The furniture in the room was strangely placed and it seemed like there was just too much of it and

Hotel Leopold has probably the best historic rooms in Novi Sad. That said, when you book online, you are only buying a business room on the top floor, and not anything like the photos of the classical ornate rooms you see on the website. The business rooms were fine and very modern, but a total disappointment when I thought I was getting an historic suite. This hotel is extremely quiet, and sits in the middle of a giant (GIANT) fortress overlooking the city of Novi Sad. It costs about $3 to take a taxi downtown from the hotel. The breakfast was another Serbian food-fest, with good selection of fresh and cooked foods in a delightful atmosphere. There are a lot of cats living in the fortress - take some bacon for them.

I recently visited this city again for work and was delighted to find out I was staying at the Hotel Leopold. It's part of the old fortress on the hill and its prime location on the Danube river offers breathtaking views. I stayed for two weeks and the staff and service were simply the very best I have experienced in a long time. These dedicated employees truly looked out for the guests and I want to thank them personally for their time and attention. From the front desk to the rooms to the kitchen and all of the staff you all are amazing and made my stay there a memorable experience. Thank you. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

First the good: The hotel is in a beautiful location with outstanding views, and it is a pleasant old building which has been quite nicely renovated and decorated - basically quite smart and comfortable. The staff were generally very helpful and pleasant. It is a modest (15 minute) walk over the bridge to Novi Sad old town, and a simple cheap taxi ride back at night (would be a bit scary climbing back up through some tunnels in the fortifications in the dark). We had a suite on the 1st floor (paying about 190 euros per night) which was large, and enjoyed the view. However, the bed was quite small in size, and the curtains were a long way from adequate in blocking light if you wished to sleep in the dark - huge gaps at the sides and the drapes don't come close to meeting in

Great view from rooms and historical hotel. Free parking and reasonably priced. However breakfast is weak with few good options. And this hotel although nice inside, needs a good maintenance and renovation outside. Room was very small too.
