This magnificent Quinta (farmhouse) was built by an Englishman in the late 1800s. The house is built of fine granite, partly into a terrace. The high ceilings on the ground floor at over 4 meters keep the house cool even on the hottest of days. The original features have been retained in a beautifully authentic restoration. The 3 suites located in the top of the house incorporate the original pine beams, giving a true "wow" factor. We have our own working winery and take wine tours to the Dao and Douro wine regions.

Great place, very friendly people, surrounded by the vineyards of their own. Having dinner with them was very pleasant and they prepare a good meal and wine and, don't forget, their port wine! I also recommend to have dinner at Mes de Lemos a 1* Michelin awarded restaurant, 800 meters from Quinta dos Tres Rios

We stayed and worked at Quinta dos Tres Rios for 3 weeks and were amazed by the hospitality. The beautiful quinta is nestled in a stunning location where we could easily access local attractions but also enjoy the quiet of the rural village. We helped with this years harvest and thoroughly enjoyed being part of the process! We got to pick, stomp and enjoy many varieties of wine. Additionally, were blown away by the incredible food during our stay, all grown in Hugh and Jane’s vegetable garden and humbly prepared. We were incredibly well cared for during our stay; Hugh and Jane drove us to see interesting sites and ensured we were happy and comfortable. They are diligent hosts who are excited to share in good conversation with their own wonderful wine. Thanks endlessly to Hugh and Jane, we highly recommend Quinta does Tres Rios to all and hope to return soon!

We stayed at Quinta dos Tres Rios for 5 nights and we really enjoyed it. The best hospitality you can imagine from the hosts Jane and Hugh. We choosed to have dinner there every night in their beautiful garden with lovely homemade food and their own nice wine. Their own vegetables, berries, chutney, marmalade eg. - and most of all the inspiring, funny and lovely company. We also tried all Jane and Hugh’s recommended tours with a great joy. We will be back.

There was nothing that could be improved with our stay at Hugh and Janes’ beautiful traditional farm house. The rooms were exquisite with views of the nearby river. The home cooked were delicious with products from their garden fresh. The homemade wines and Port were wonderful and plentiful - bottles of Rose’ Red and Port were waiting for us in each room. An Additional pleasure was the stimulating conversations with our hosts, ex-Brits who have been in Portugal for 15 years and answered all our questions about the local population and culture. Finally we were treated to a private wine tasting and full explanation of a local winery.
