We’ve been coming to Ventana Windsports for many years now and we keep returning for great rooms, great staff, great food, and of course, great wind. The hotel is perfectly located on the beach for windsports enthusiasts and when it’s not windy, there are complementary paddle boards and cruiser bikes available for guests. Many of the rooms have ocean views and the included breakfast and lunch at the restaurant, Coyas, is another great perk. Coyas is probably the best restaurant on the beach—the food is very fresh and service excellent. They host a weekly Arrachera Night that is not to be missed! It’s no surprise that there are many return guests and we love seeing our La Ventana friends every year. If you’re new to the hotel, you will quickly be welcomed by everyone and feel a great sense of community with the other guests and staff alike. All of the staff at Ventana Windsports and Coyas care deeply about the guests’ experience. Lucia, the manager, is awesome — she runs a tight ship helping with everything from booking airport transportation and tours to handling late check-ins and reservations changes. Always super responsive, resourceful, and upbeat, she’s a huge asset to the hotel. We’ve stayed all over in La Ventana and continue to feel Ventana Windsports is the best accommodation on the beach. See you next year!…
I wonder who wrote all the 5 star reviews for this place; maybe the owners’ friends. The place is pretty basic with basic amenities. They lack a good management, they’re confused about bookings, payments... the worst is if you stay a couple of days, please make sure to pay after each meal. The restaurant in this place is a big mess. Most of the time you ask for stuff they already “ran out” or it takes a very long time to bring out the most basic stuff. They’re clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. Also, if you;re looking for a private getaway, this is not the place. The rooms are really close to each other and it’s a pretty small hotel. Last, OVERPRICED for what it offers. Been there once; would love to hear other recommendations in the area.
The staff here is wonderful--very friendly and helpful. There are cruiser bikes you can borrow to ride to the local market for snacks or to the farmer's market for shopping. They also have snorkel gear and paddle boards to loan. There is better equipment for rent. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and there are a few options based on budget and family size. There is a restaurant on site (Coyas) that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All meals are good with lots of fresh ingredients. Breakfast and lunch are included in the price of the room.
We are a family of 4 from Hood River, Oregon who just returned from an incredible week in La Ventana, Baja. We couldn't have stayed at a nicer place and so enjoyed the staff, location and amenities at La Ventana Windsports. Not only could we be out on the water within minutes but we also used the SUP's, kayak, beach cruisers, mountain bikes and ping pong table. The restaurant had an amazing view, friendly staff and excellent food and we were well taken care of at every turn. Can't recommend them highly enough!
For windsurfing and kiting, this place is the king. Super relaxing, comfortable accommodations, great gear (thanks Fredrico!) and great food. This place is kid friendly, the food is great (and breakfast and lunch were included in the room rate), it is right on the beach, the staff is very friendly and competent, there is a giant beach-front hot tub, game room, internet, mountain bikes, SUP. Lots to do and a very social environment to boot. We spent our time sailing, eating and sleeping, not cooking, schlepping, and hassling, and that was perfect.
