Awesome location and beautiful views make this hotel hard not to pass up. The pool was amazing and the room was nicely appointed. I didn't quite like the decor as it didn't really seem to fit what was a historic nature of the hotel and made it feel a bit cheap. The hotel needs to work on better service. Reception was not quick to respond via email. The wait staff did not seemed well trained. We often were shuffled from one server to the next and we often ended up waiting to order or ask for another drink. I loved how we could hike right from th hotel to the top of Burgenstock overlooking the lake and gettin to Lucern was easy by car. Given the price of rooms, I don't think it was worth it and they need to step it up. We had dinner at the Burgenstock Hotel, and we immediately felt a difference in service any quality that this hotel lacked. I general, the hotel is not really suited for children. No rooms have more than one bed, the children menu was limited. However, we did book the use on the movie theater which was very cool.

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and it’s nice to hear that you have enjoyed our facilities and the view from our hotel. While I wish you had a better experience,in terms of guest service, it is feedback like this that we learn from. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent that in some areas we fell short. We understand that for a great experience we further need to improve our guest service. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely, Marcel Hinderer General Manager

I am writing this review while waiting for my dessert. Waiting is what dominated this culinary experience. If you are on intermittent fasting, you are at the right place! You will like it here if you have the patience to just sit and enjoy the view. If you don’t, you better stay away.

Absolutely brilliant….! This boutique resort is simply mind blowing. I had originally seen a random video on FB over 10 years ago and I had put in on my must do list. And thankfully got the chance to finally visit here, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The drive is steep and the views already lifts your moods as we reach to this hill top resort. They have plenty of parking around, we saw a few people including a child also walk to the Burgenstock resort through the hills and it’s about a 20 minute trek as informed by the hotel receptionist. This is perhaps to either visit the other resort or use public transport as the bus operates only from that part to the nearest towns. So the reception team are extremely welcoming and we were shown around the facilities. The spa, fitness and finally the best infinity swiming pool of my life. The smiling and non intruding staff make the experience brilliant. In the end we were all left with this feeling on peace, calm and content along with thankfulness. A must visit, recommended….!

I have dreamt at staying at villa honegg for many years. It is not an inexpensive hotel so I really had to save up to get an opportunity to come here. Finally, I had the chance to come with 2 friends and was so excited. What I will say is that I have mixed reviews. Pros Beautiful location with spectacular views. It really is a pinch me moment overlooking the lake and the mountains, even on a cloudy day They were kind enough to let us check in an hour early and check out an hour late… more on this later. The included breakfast was really lovely. A lot of variety and you can fill yourself up. Plus it is available until 2pm They had a cinema that was so lovely to watch Netflix in. We had a great time watching a couple episodes of The Witcher Service was very good— we felt well taken care of and staff was very attentive. It wasn’t until check out that we hit a little bump Cons My biggest complaint is that they are not clear about the usage times of the spa. We were allowed in at 2pm on check in day but did not stipulate that we were not allowed back once we checked out. Nowhere on the website, not mentioned upon checkin, not mentioned on the tour of the facilities, not mentioned when asking for a late checkout. In fact, on the tour of the facilities, we were told breakfast was available for hotel guest until 2pm, so we assumed spa use would be the same. When we were checking out, we were planning to go for an hour before heading back in town, we were declined and everyone was shocked that we were shocked. We have all stayed at small boutique hotels before and we have never been declined use of the facilities once checked out. Marcel in management tried to explain but said we shouldn’t have made this assumption, which put a sour taste in our mouth. If breakfast is being served 2 hours post-check out, it is odd to assume the spa rules are completely different. Best to be clear. We had to change out of our bathing suits and move our taxi up, which isn’t a big deal but still a bit disappointing I’m going to be honest… you are paying for the location/spa/view vs the actual hotel rooms. For the price, we were pretty underwhelmed with the room. It felt a little dated (wasn’t expecting modern but it just felt a little worn). Certainly for the price, I was expecting a bit more space and a bit fancier of a room. But it was still decent. The balcony, on the other hand, had a spectacular view and really lovely furniture. If ordering a taxi, best to arrange yourself. We ubered from Lucerne for about 60 CHF. We had the hotel call us a taxi and we were charged 125 CHF to go back to the exact same destination. Finally, there was an uncontrollable amount of flies everywhere in the hotel. It’s hot, it’s summer, I totally get it. But it was getting to the point that it was uncomfortable. I had almost 5 flies on me at one time at one point. My friends I was with also felt it was very strange for a 5 star hotel to not be proactive in getting rid of the flies. All and all, was it beautiful? Yes. I’ll never forget the pool, even if there were multiple influencers taking hours worth of photos at all times. But would I save money to stay here again? Unfortunately no. There are other boutique hotels in Europe that are definitely more worth it. And if you want to experience the pool, just book 4 hour access the week off and save yourself a whole lot of money.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear that you have enjoyed our hotel facilities and that you priased our breakfast and our staff service. You have been very appreciative that we were flexible in allowing you to check-in early and also to check-out late which was possible due to availability. I had politely explained to you that we were not able to extend the Spa usage passed check-out as our high occupancy did not allow it. We want to ensure that all hotel guest have a great experience during their stay and that it is not over crowded. Hence the usage is from check-in to check-out which is an International standard. Kind regards, Marcel Hinderer Gastgeber

Nearly 3,000 ft up the views are amazing. Having searched for a small boutique hotel Villa Honegg delivered on all fronts. Fabulous location, incredible views and a truly warm welcome from Leo and his colleagues, everyone associated with this beautiful hotel were multilingual, warm welcoming. Bedrooms either have a lake view (with some mountains in the background) or they look towards valley and the mountains. First floor rooms with the lake views have large terraces. If you can get room 15 it has a large terrace and corner view, a panoramic view of the lake and the surrounding mountains, fabulous. Being slightly early in the year not all facilities were open outside and being on the mountain means the terrace cover is sometimes retracted. However, the outdoor pool and spa area is simply stunning. An infinity pool with lakes and mountains beyond is to be experienced. Sadly for us the weather was not as kind as it could be , but that should not detract from this hotel, they even have a large cinema room where you can order popcorn and drinks and watch a film of your choice on those dreary days. We found the food and wine choices to be fabulous even a white Merlot from Switzerland, which was simply lovely. Really friendly staff, very welcoming and helpful thoroughly enjoyed our stay

What an amazing place. Only stopped to stand out of the rain but Leom on reception came out and offered us a table for a drink. Every member of staff was very warm and welcoming even though we weren’t in a room. They even brought us towels to dry off. Absolutely incredible service thank you so much

Very friendly service, amazing views, great spa. Restaurant is terrible though. While the service is friendly and fine, and the breakfast is decent, the food for dinner is terrible. Tasteless, unimaginative combinations, mini portions and totally overpriced for the quality you get. If you can, then avoid eating in the hotel.

We went to Villa Honegg a month ago for the first time and lasted only 4 weeks before we could not resist going again for a few days. The little hotel with big heart radiates guest orientation and above all relaxation in all areas and services. For example breakfast is offered until 14:00 in the afternoon - clear message that you are meant to enjoy the lovely hotel and beautiful surroundings at your own pace and with absolutely zero hectic. Within the first 10 minutes in the pool you feel as if you have been on holiday for a week already. Excellent menu and wine selections as well. Highly recommended!

Literally the best hotel we stay during our holiday in Switzerland. That instagram/tiktok pool is a must visit, as the scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. The room was very modern and spacious, and we got a huge balcony as well. The gym was small but it’s enough to get a good workout on a holiday. The breakfast was delicious although the service was really slow.

We purchased the 4 hour spa slot which was 220CHF for 2 people. The views are incredible even driving up! We had a warm welcome and we’re given robes and towels and showed the small but great changing facilities, even walking in you can tell this spa care more about the quality there guest have rather than letting in as many people as possible. This shows also as only 4 people who aren’t staying in the hotel can purchase a slot at either 8am,12pm or 7pm. There was complimentary water, teas and a option to call for food and more drinks. The pool was amazing not over crowded at all, us and one other couple who had also purchased the spa visit and 2-3 hotel guests. We chose the 8am slot. The view was foggy but cleared by 10am and was incredible, even without the view the place is amazing and really shows a 5* customer experience. BEST spa I’ve been too. Will hopefully be back one day!
