We had a good stay. There is literally nowhere else you can get a night on the mountain for $199 per night between Christmas and New Year. Also, it’s the only pet friendly hotel and pets stay for free! Rooms were clean and warm. Couple of things to bear in mind which I wish we had known: 1. The only pet friendly place to eat on the mountain is The Bulldog restaurant attached to the hotel. This is not open on a Tuesday. We were there on a Tuesday! So we had to take shifts going for dinner somewhere else which wasn’t ideal. In the warmer months there would be patios available but over the holidays you really need indoor eating! 2. The snow maintenance takes place 2-6am every day. This is quite noisy with various beeping and can be bothersome for some people (and dogs). Recommend ear plugs (for people!) 3. We had a lot of snow during our stay and the parking lot for the hotel was cleared to a point but we needed to dig our vehicle out. You shouldn’t be driving up there without decent snow tires BUT you will get seriously stuck if you don’t have good tires. We were fine but other people struggled. All in all would definitely stay there again! But remember ear plugs and come up with a plan for dinner on a Tuesday!

Came up for a night to check out SilverStar. The gondola is a few steps away to head up for a nice hike or the chair lift for a bike ride. For the hotel, Super Friendly staff at check in and as well at the pub, a very clean, basic and comfortable room. I Will be back for sure.

Travelled solo on a snowboarding trip and decided to stay at the affordable accommodations. Staff is great and very easy to get anywhere you want to go. Not being a pet owner I did not notice any difference if it was no pets allowed, very clean. Restaurant attached is relaxing with good food and service.

After a lot of typical just-off-highway franchised hotels we thought we'd do something a bit different so drove a few km off the highway at Vernon to stay at the Bulldog. One factor was a cheaper rate, but we found a lot of other positives. The hotel (and it's colour scheme) was certainly something different, just what we were looking for. I can see it wouldn't appeal to everyone, but for us it was filled the bill. The room was basic, but comfortable, and we enjoyed a good meal at the on site restaurant. The kids loved their first gondola ride (for a good deal less money than in the mountain parks) and we enjoyed some uncrowded trails before continuing on our journey.

This is my favourite hotel in silverstar. It's pet friendly, it's right at the mouth of the town but also close to everything and it has an outdoor hot tub. Also the restaurant has delicious food and the rooms are basic but the nightly rate is really reasonable. It has a cute style and also a little bit of history behind it. Love this hotel, wouldn't try anywhere else

Easy access to a mile high view. Hotel is older and showing wear but it is well maintained and with interesting color options. The onsite dining options are very good and offer a variety of choices. Pet options available but did not affect us non pet people.

My wife had this dish on our last visit, it’s called Soto Ayam. It’s kind of a chicken noodle soup with an amazing spice to it. Pair this with a beer of your choice and it’s a little bit of food heaven!

Hotel is ski to door. We stayed in a basement apartment which was ok for 3 adults. There were two bathrooms, full kitchen and seating area. The main bedroom is large with a room within it with two bunk beds but no door. Clean and lots of storage. There’s free continental breakfast but there was often things missing just as knives, plates etc. Apparently this was receptions responsibility but they didn’t seem that interested. Would categorise this hotel as basic but value for money.

My wife and I booked our trip. On the phone, they did not tell us the cancellation or re-booking fee would be one nights stay. Whatever...happy to accept the policy upon review. However, when we moved our booking a few weeks later we were once again not told that we just ate the deposit (one nights stay). Unfortunately, due to some unexpected life issues, we were once again not able to make the trip. Even though we gave 2 weeks notice of cancellation, we now had to eat 2 nights...lame! Even upon speaking with a manager, we were told to stuff it. Bulldog is bullsh*&!!
