First time visit to danmark and we are really surprised. Jutland is beautiful and danmark is a very quiet and silent country. No advertising or commercial activities. Compared to the Dutch coast Jutland is an oasis of rest. Looking for coffee or a drink is the disadvantage. Nowhere you can get one. In Holland you have beach cafes every 1000 meter! Nature is overwhelming. And we stayed in an nice b&b: Iller slot. Situated nearby the sea. A very kind owner who does all the best to let you feel at home. A very nice room, good food and drinks and the hiking along the gendarmenpath makes your holliday successful! Why are there so few people living in Danmark? ;-)

After a long hike on the Gendarmer track, we ended at Iller Slot. Great hospitality, delicious food and a comfy bed/room. I will recomend Iller Slot for a stop over og a longer vacation. It’s situatede close to the beach and the cosy town Broager

Me and a friend had the pleasure to stay here, during a hiking trip om Denmark's very own Camino (Gendarmstien).
The place is very cosy and has a lot of old elegance in a quaint style. The hostess is super nice and the homemade food is just what we were craving for, after a long walk. Our warmest recommendations

Iller castle is an authentic and different experience on the gendarme trail. It is homely here, the food is home-cooked and the furnishings are mixed and give the impression that the house has "lived" for several periods of time.
The castle is beautifully situated with a view of the water and there is a lovely calm.

We were visiting to book our daughter's confirmation. At the first appointment we were forgotten and had to drive home again. On the second visit, we were definitely promised to be able to hold our confirmation there, as we were the first to book. There were probably others who wanted the same date, but it was not final, we were informed by the chef. So we had a deal. Right up until a month later, when they called and said there had been a mistake and we didn't have an appointment anyway.
Very very bad style and obviously no control over the bookings or someone who was more interesting has arrived 😡
