The Hotel Italia is located a half hour north of Turino in the pre-alps. In fact, most of the roads end in this small village called Coasolo. Hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the natural beauty of the pre-alps is fantastic. We had a fabulous view of the larger mountains from our balcony.
Turino is one of Italy’s most famous cities. Numerous museums abound including the second largest Egyptian museum in the world. The Cathedral of Torino reportedly holds the Shroud of Turino, or the burial robe of Christ. The Palazzo Reale, was the seat of royal power of the Savoy family from 1660 to 1860 and should not be missed. Other museums, churches, and historic structure abound. One should also visit the near-by city and valley of Aosta. Numerous castles, fortresses, and towering mountains make this trip a pleasure.
