Surf With Amigas is Nicaragua's only women's surf and yoga retreat where women can come together as group of amigas and learn to surf or improve their surfing under the guidance of a professional surfer, namely Holly Beck. Holly was on the world tour for years until deciding a few years ago that she wanted to settle down in Nicaragua and share the surf stoke with other amigas. Along with her amazing staff and awesome beachfront resort in northern Nicaragua, Holly has created a unique experience that many women have called the best of their lives. What sets Surf With Amigas apart from other women's surf retreats you might encounter? 1) Holly's surf-coaching, both in the water and with daily video-captured sessions and slow motion analysis of all your waves; 2)the uncrowded waves of northern Nicaragua- we have spots to ourselves unlike southern Nica; 3) our beachfront resort is awesome! Come find out for yourself!

What an epic trip to Bocas with Michelle. The waves were pumping the entire trip. Every day we surfed for 4 hours at a time minimum, sometimes doubling sessions. Bocas offers wave sizes for any level – beginner to extreme pro. We were two short boarders from Huntington Beach and Santa Cruz stoked with consistent 6-10 feet mini barrels. Bocas town is awesome, and we had a great time grabbing drinks at the brewery or lunch at Leaf Eaters. The boat was really comfortable and JB, the captain, is really knowledgeable and fun. But the real reason to go on this trip is Michelle. I can’t say enough about her. She rips and is incredibly great at explaining surf technique. Her enthusiasm and surfing tips helped me excel and gain confidence. It is a privilege to be in the water with her. So many times during the trip I wanted to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I just kept saying, “This is the greatest day!!” Everyday. THANK YOU so much for a wonderful trip and lifetime of memories. I’ll definitely be back.

Awesome week in Playa Grande, my 2nd Surf with Amigas trip, will be going again in April to Longboard House , in southern Costa. All the instructors were great, and made sure you were taken care of, especially Gabby. There were great non-surf activities to do, like pig whispering and ox riding, my favorites! It is a really great place to go for single travelers. I can't wait till April!!!!!!!!!!

spent the first week of August (2019) here at an advanced shortboard tube riding clinic and am already trying to figure out when I can get back here, it was my first time in Nicaragua and I've spent a lot of time between Mexico and Costa Rica but I really, truly enjoyed everything about Nic. The resort is top notch, the food is amazing, the people are extremely friendly and warm and the program at SWA is great, I especially loved the yoga classes each day in the open air, elevated Yoga studio that just happens to be right next to the beach. I'm just trying to decide whether to do another solo trip or to try the family surf retreat, either way you will not be disappointed if you join one of these retreats, I only wish my week didn't fly by so fast.

I went on the family retreat because my partner loves to surf. I was not planning on surfing myself as I had never done so. But once I was there, the instructors made me feel so comfortable that I tried it, and all of a sudden I was up on a board having the time of my life. And my 8-year old daughter learned to surf too! Holly and her team are extraordinary.

This retreat was exactly what I needed! I’m a mother of two small children and needed a break. I also wanted to improve my surfing. I got what I came for, plus much more. Holly was super helpful and quick to respond to all my many questions I had while planning the trip. They have this figured out and it’s like a well oiled machine. I didn’t have to do any decision making when I got there- no deciding where to eat, where to surf, what time to wake up, or even what board to ride. I have been surfing for 17 years but have never had any kind of instruction. My surfing improved immediately after the first session. The instructors are knowledgeable and experienced. They know their stuff and genuinely care about every person they coach. Almost all my waves were recorded so I could look back and see how to improve. I could go on about this retreat. I’ll definitely be going back next year... even if just for the food and good company.
