The end of the earth…right next door to home. Hotel Pashmina wises for one thing only : to create a peaceful haven for its guests, a break from daily life and for them to be transported into a new world. For each of the hotel’s five stars we will make five promises to all of our guests : relaxation, excellent family atmosphere, unbeatable luxury, escape and an exceptionally memorable holiday. A luxury refuge This expression may seem contradictory in essence. When we speak of a « refuge », we generally invoke ideas of danger, outdoor mountain living and makeshift accommodation. However, a « refuge » can also be an area where we feel safe, at ease, far from daily troubles…a refuge is a shelter, a cocoon, an oasis in the centre of the desert, or why not a temple on the very top of the mountain, a room with a view out over the horizon ? The experience offered by hotel Pashmina is a simple one : exclusive luxury in a mountain resort.

16 years ago, when we have been in Val Thorens, for the last time, fine hotels were almost non existent. But now, with Hotel Pashmina you have an excellent choice, directly on the slopes (ski in, ski out). Lodging and food are excellent, worth the 5 stars. Spa facilities and gymn are more like a downside. Just one small sauna and one steam bath room with allmost no resting area can not compete to comparable hotels in South Tyrol or Austria. So there is room for improvement. Half board was great with delicious breakfast and excellent dinner buffet, that we preferred over the menu choice every day. Service here had ups and downs, with more on the downsides. Cleaning tables between courses and changing of silver ware were sometimes a bit sporadically, as friendliness of some of the waitresses. The wine list with exclusivly frensh wines was a bit to ambitiously patriotic, in my opinion. Good to know is that Restaurant Les Explorateurs ( Michelin star) und Chateau La Marine (ski hut at the slopes) are part of the Pashmina experience. So overall the the Hotel Pashmina is a really good choice for a week in Val Thorens

I thank you for your kind feedback, and I confirm Val Thorens is improving to offer not only the best ski experience, but also great hotels and restaurants, and Pashmina le Refuge is the latest 5 stars hotel of the resort. Our credo is to become the cosiest refuge, and of course we have to improve day after day. All your comments help us to focus on quality, and we thank you for this. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again next winter. With warmest regards from sunny Val Thorens,

The hotel is located convinetly on the slope (in the the afternoon the ski in , is more of a red slope than a blue one). The hotel operetas a very convinient personal shuttle service that takes you to any point in the village and collect you upon request. The rooms are big and well equiped. Breakfast and Spa are great. The hottest staem bath I have ever expirienced. The staff helps you organize all your request (such as ski lessons, private instructor, ski pass) very efficiantly. Renting the equipment in the hotel's ski shop costs between 150% to 200% in compare withe the prices in the village. Prking price is fair. most recomended.

Amazing luxury at the very top of the resort, ski in ski out, fantastic service, 5* yet relaxed and very amenable to kids as well! The ski shop and staff were really helpful and the lockers areas lead right out onto the slopes. And after a long day skiing (or rather carrying young children around the slopes!) we sat outside in the bar area and watched the brave few venture down the 'blue' run! We will be back...

We spend a magical time at Pashmina. I am a seasoned international traveller who had just about given up on France for confort, functionality, service and design. I am also an experienced skier with lots of time spent in the French Alps in my younger life. This time about was our first time for a family ski trip with my wife and our 6 year old daughter. I wanted to get it right in late season and booked Pashmina for 4 nights in half board in April. The level of attention, design, service and confort at Pashmina is just exquisite. The design itself of the hotel is incredible - they got it very special (and right) on about everything. The passion of the family owner Cédric and his staff is felt at every corner of the hotel, from the beautiful spa, the quiet diner areas at Basecamp, the rooms, to the ski shop (which is part of a network of 14 shops and has the latest ski models and a lot of stock and super staff). We particularly enjoyed the in-room breakfast which made us save a ton of time in the morning. Our daughter made it on time for her 9:00 ski lesson every morning. The on-the-piste ski in/out location is great. It’s a blue slope from the Pionners/Plein-sud chairlifts but the blue slope turns into a reddish slope (steeper) on the last 200 meters - beginners skiers will have somewhat difficulty to rejoin the hotel by ski but our 6 year old managed on her second day of ski to come down. The staff is composed of “season workers” so it’s a bit orignal compared to the level of experience you would see in high end hotels in large cities. But their attitude makes up for it: international, open minded and passionate about service. I had never seen something like that in France before : no horrible French accent when speaking English and a world class service. We absolutely loved it. We didn’t go to “les Explorateurs” restaurant (one Michelin star) since we were in half board at Basecamp. But if an upgrade for half board to Les Explorateurs would have been provided for a given price we might have done it one evening. The level of the kitchen at Basecamp is already very refined compared to what you would get a 4 star hotel buffet - service at the table and a choice of starter / main course with a variety of fish / meat / veggie every evening. On the other side, Les Explorateurs seems to be a whole new level. The kitchen is shared between the 2 hotel restaurants so we hope that more flexibility will be provided in the future to upgrade to Explorateurs. Budget permitting we will definitely come back to Pashmina and we keep a very very very warm and relaxing memory of our stay. We absolutely loved it and we want to thank the whole team for making our stay amazing.
