Detailed Reviews
Perfect Location and alot of good points about the clubmed Val Claret experience. Ski in/ ski out could not be better ski lessons, information and organisation were perfectly satisfactory but having staggered times for lessons might have helped the rugby scrum in the morning when getting ready. Boot room inadequate ski lockers too small as is boot room. Hotel was nice Large fire area which was cost, decor and comfort of communial areas was good but could have been kept a little cleaner if carried out overnight rather than when people still using them. Based resteraunt, drinks and food all excellent but would have been good to have complimentary wine in the restaurant and not have to bring your drink down staires from the bar. All staff friendly, efficient and helpful. Rooms good size satisfactory storage good size bed but not comfortable and difficcult to feel rested in the morning also room heating on and off throughout the night so either roasting or freezing and very dying to the room air. Decor was fine and bathroom well appointed with shower option over bath. Clean towels on request. Room kept clean and room housekeeping was great. Intertainment was repetative and definately not to my taste. Occassionally just player some good music, but a lot was suited to a sax player and was a bit much when every day. Kids club looked well attened and all kids looked happy. Would have like some information on all hotel facilities what was available how to access them and any additional costs. Would also be useful to have information on medical centre location, opening times and how to access/pay/etc. But would probably visit again.

Club Med Tignes is in the perfect ski location ever, and could not be better organised or more convenient for a family ski holiday. Good value, free bar and pretty good range of food for all tastes. Ski instructors were great with a group or class for every level. Kids club worked fine. Plenty of post skiing snacks by the bar with soup cake and pancakes. Kids appreciated having freedom within the hotel.
However there are some significant points for improvement. Firstly the Chef Adeline was not interested in listening to customer views at all. The kids show at 9pm finishing at 950 with sweets and fizzy drinks the night before badge testing was absurd. Yet she explained to me that this is how we do things in France ( as a silly English person I could not know?) which is not true from our experiences elsewhere in Europe.
Secondly the facility is very old and tired. My friend’s room had mould on the wall. There is peeling paint. Swimming pool leaks into dining room below!! Only one more season left in this building.
We nearly missed our flight back as the organisation of private transfer messed up and they had no plan B or initiative to sort one out. Adeline again. And the cleaners schedule is bizarre so you fall over them all the time.
Club Med is fab but I am not sure I will go back to this one

Hotel is generally great, with excellent location, happy friendly entertainment staff and an abundance of good food and wine. The hotel is however really letting itself down with frustrating details that could be easily resolved and despite having been to reception on each occasion things are somewhat lacking in housekeeping and maintenance. We arrived 2hrs later than expected on arrival day at 6pm and our room wasn’t ready. When we did get our room at 7pm (shattered after a long day) the key to one of the rooms wasn’t working and also only one key available! Eventually sorted later that evening but frustrating arrival as you can imagine. The pillows are tiny (only one and really small) so we went to reception to simply ask if we could have an additional pillow please - no pillows available whatsoever. Toilets in reception area, lock is faulty and been locked in and had to be helped out by maintenance twice. Final straw housekeeping has been into room last two mornings and not replenished loo roll either day so now had to resort to asking for toilet paper at reception and highlighting none had been replenished. Reception said they would now go and put some in room straight away - just arrived back at room 4 hours later and …. Not even done! As I say great hotel but seriously letting itself down with real basics.

Do not let Club Med take your luggage to your room, they misplaced my suitcase for over 3 hours with no idea where it was for a journey that should have taken 5 minutes. On previous occasions I have found my suitcase on the wrong floor, in the wrong building, my advise is do not let Club Med near your siutcases! Appart from the first evening the food was good, on occasions very good, however they need to keep it hotter especially the vegtables. Great ski area and our ski instructer. Clement, was very good.

This is our 15th club Med holiday and as such we enjoy gold member status. Not that that really means anything with this company. Day 1 we hit the slopes and a minor collision off the chair lift resulted in a major ligament damage - crutches, immobilisation, medication etc. All handled very well by the mountain services in Val Claret. After this posed a major logistical challenge to our room situation in the annexe building (lots of level changes with no lifts and a lot of walking when you can’t put the foot down), I requested an alternative room to be told firstly no alternative, then perhaps but with a charge. Now they have confirmed half of my family can have access to a new room for the best part of €1900.
I understand it is peak time but the lack of tact or sympathy to our repeat custom has revealed a fault line in this company that surprises me. A purported benefit of gold member status is room upgrades! We had one once. Not interested in an upgrade just looking for a do-able logistics solution to let me play out the holiday.
I sit immobilised in the bar area and none of the GOs even offer me a drink. Reception staff today in particular Mina was very helpful though. Compared to last year customer service has just plummeted here!

We stayed 2 weeks at the Belambra in Tignes, 4 of us in premium interconnecting rooms on the top floor. Summer stay.
Good points :
- location: close to ski lifts, Val Claret town center and free shuttles to other areas including the lake
- Good standing (former club med premises)
- lots of activities offered by the resort but also by the club including fitness: I particularly thank Emilie for the morning aerolatino classes +++ we were even invited to do a show!
- kindness of the staff
- Renardeaux and pirate club leaders!! Anissa, Myria, Anette thanks to them
- a very welcoming and warm bar chef Haikel
- picnic possible if you book the day before before 6 p.m. with full board
Negative points :
- non-existent director met twice in 2 weeks (versus club med who takes great care and whom you meet at every meal, listening to your requests - suggestions)
- no baby club despite what was indicated to us when booking (problem linked to PMI approval) we were informed on site except that this club had been chosen for the reception of babies from 4 months: I thank Axel the head of the mini club for being able to allocate us 2 1/2 days at the last minute during our last week
We will refer you to unreachable customer service.
-cleanliness of common areas to be reviewed
- crowded and small swimming pool
- crowded hammam despite reservation because people do not respect their turn and no one is keeping an eye on things..
- elevators often broken down
- Nordic bath broken
- communication: we were not informed of the time of cleaning in our rooms, service at reception uneven depending on the person and little informed about the functioning of the club (conflicting information..)
- little or no cleaning in the room: take out the trash, get clean sheets/for the children in the event of an accident, get soap, etc.
- no distinction between full board and half board: lots of half board came to eat at lunchtime..
Rather basic catering with sometimes in the evening a few dishes such as homemade gratins / lasagnas or meat cuts.
Often queues... week of August 15?!
I asked for the type of meat to be displayed but this was not done every time you have to ask.
Insufficient kitchen staff and service.. you may come across your mini club chef clearing out.
There have been shortages (olive oil in particular) but also of certain dishes if you don't make it when they open.
We felt a lot of amateurism probably linked to the first opening.
In conclusion: a first summer for this belambra 5 B in its infancy with a real lack of staff, we hope to return in better conditions!!

The location of this resort is truly amazing for ski in and out. Excellent lessons and ski facilities. Decor is a little dull and in some areas quite tiered.
The food is amazing but the bar lets the side down in service, drink sizes and there are lots of drinks like cider not included.
The room was large and nicely laid out. The shower is powerful, but there is a risk of scalding. Baths don't hold water and the shower screen is inadequate for containing the water. Toilets in the rooms are very poor.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The spa is nice, but they have squeezed too much in to a small area, so it not very usable. The pool was a little cold too.
Overall we were very happy with the holiday, just a little disappointed with some aspects considering the price of some of the packages.

Stayed at the hotel as part of an all inclusive ski package arranged by Sunweb. Our transfer from Geneva wasn't due to arrive at the hotel until 9pm on the Sat night, I called ahead to see if a meal would still be available and receptionist arranged a late meal; great service. After a long day travelling the receptionist was great, check-in was smooth, quick and we were well briefed.
Room was warm, a good size with a balcony overlooking the slope; bed was comfy, but pillows boxy and a little hard. We were on sixth floor, lift worked but often a bit of a wait.
Good ski room, locker was allocated via your room number with a self-set digital code; boots warm and dry in the morning; enough benches for changing. Access via some steps through the rear door onto the slope and 100m ski to the lift.
Food was plentiful with lots of choice, though as reported in other reviews, the scrambled eggs went quickly at breakfast, often not replaced. Only issue was finding a seat at mealtimes as many of the tables were reserved for large groups; few settings for a couple. We started eating outside of the popular timings which solved this. There always seemed to be a shortage of coffee cups at breakfast, but plentiful staff worked hard to quickly to turn tables around. Unfortunately I (amongst others) was struck down with D&V on Thurs night, initially staff were unwilling for my partner to take bread/ fruit from the restaurant, but following another guest falling ill in the restaurant itself the staff relented - thankyou.
Apres ski, throughout the day there are cold drinks or hot wine/chocolate available in the bar along with crepes/waffles at 1630. Bar service was good and staff generally friendly and polite, the exception being a chap called Corentin who was neither, bad day perhaps?
On the following Saturday the hotel provided access to the restaurant for pastries/coffee for early morning departures.
Over the years we've used all sorts of accommodation in Tignes, but this stood out as our best yet, and we plan to return in '24.

Fortunately the hotel is in Val Claret and Tignes is a good destination.
Spacious room, decor OK, too bad lack of light through the window and the dimly lit lamps. Small but functional bathroom and separate toilet (even smaller). No cleaning during the stay, it's still strange, even when you know it beforehand.
Well laid out building, A large elevator and a very small one, not synchronized at all, you can wait for it for a really long time and it will never arrive full and when you finally get in it will go all the floors in the opposite direction. Plus if you have luggage (or if you're just on the 7th floor) it's hell.
Restaurant at -1. For my part, despite some opinions, I enjoyed myself, a very generous and quality buffet. Ok the bread is frozen but super good. Desserts, on the other hand, are also frozen, and served still frozen is less good. Starters, main courses, desserts, raw vegetables and fruit, pizza, fries, grills, children's dishes, lots of choice and for the most part very very good. Dishes not always clean, often at breakfast or meals, no more glasses, no more cups, tables not redone, the waiters are quickly overwhelmed and do not clear the tables or redo them either. People arrive and there is no more room (despite the huge hype rooms). Very noisy but obviously there are a lot of children. The waiters and the staff are still chatting in the restaurant, those who have finished their shift remain talking with their colleagues.
At the reception, amateurs, they don't know the area, nor the hotel (the receptionist assured me that there was no shower at the swimming pool and the sauna, that basically you go in the sauna, you sweat well, you dry off, get dressed and shower in your room). In fact if there is a shower (and rarely soap). a single changing room (one cabin) to change for the swimming pool, sauna and hammam, and unclosed lockers where you can take your towel or your personal belongings.
In terms of information, the activities app is not up to date, during my stay there was no sport (the coach had an unexpected incident, great and that's my problem because of that?). No hike, no morning run, no athletics, no Les Mills, no aquagym, normal). The completely overwhelmed director who alternates between diving and recruiting, who tells anyone who will listen to show that he too is in trouble. Fortunately a functional gym (there aren't many machines so if there are more than three of you in the room, you're already done)
For hikes (extra charge, because no coach this week), I am assured at reception that the guides office opens every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (it opens between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. only on Wednesday and Thursday but thank you )
The whole team, it looked like it was their first job and their first week especially, nice but not lively and in no hurry. You can wait at reception for a good 5 minutes in front of a single receptionist who is putting away papers or on the phone.
In short, a nice stay if you have a program entirely elsewhere than at the hotel except for meals, if you are not in a hurry, zen and indulgent.

Very bad experience Belambra!
Very big lack of staff who are not trained , and all this seen by a director who does not care royally!
As he tells his clients “you are never better served than yourself”...
Cleanliness that leaves much to be desired , rooms never redone during the stay with clean towels , garbage bags and toilet paper to pick up directly at the reception! Never seen before!
Catering service that is not worthy of a so-called level 5: tjrs the same dishes without any variety, and be careful to be on time otherwise you will have nothing! Dirty tables not cleared if you arrive 1 hour after the start of service!
If the club was sold as a level 2 or 3 it might be suitable but it is absolutely not a level 5 as advertised!! In this case Belambra must review its Ranking and rate offer
What is certain is that we will never go back😉

Yes it’s been refurbished, they’ve got some photos up in the hotel of the works, the restaurants and bar area have been done, rooms weren’t updated but are fine.
