The food is great, the SkiVal staff are very friendly and is only a 50-75m walk from the piste and the swimming pool, but the chalet itself is tatty and unloved. The whole place needs gutting and renovating. Our party had one room on the top floor which leaked all week. On emailing SkiVal they said the issue was being... More

We loved Alpaka. We were there 2 weeks including Christmas and Boxing Day. Staff for this year is lovely. Friendly and relaxed, they put us at ease. Gary in the kitchen knows how to cook, so much was clear. Food was skiers food, and yet just that much nicer than the comfort food I would make at home, such that... More

Hannah and the team at Alpaca Lodge were amazing- fixed everything we needed prior to our arrival- even had a late supper waiting for us when we rocked up at 10.30! It is a really down to earth, friendly chalet, quite basic but just the job if you are on holiday for the skiing and good company in the evenings.

We totally landed on our feet with this lodge. After being very badly let down by Crystal Ski we booked this with less than 48hrs before our trip was supposed to commence. It was cheaper than our other package and we could not have asked for more. I disagree with the other comment about it being dirty. This is one... More

Let's start with the good points. The service good and friendly and the food was generally pretty decent. The bar area is comfortable. The problem is with the rooms. Each of us in the chalet had different problems. Some had no shower or a shower that you had to hold over your head. Ours was broken with mould growing in... More

Just stayed at hotel, booked via Ski Val. The Ski Val staff were great and very friendly. The food especially, was of a excellent standard with a hearty breakfast to start your Skiing day. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The bar is perfect for relaxing in, with a lovely log fire and good beer. My only gripe would be poor... More

Just returned from a great week skiing in Tignes and having visited the Alpaka 12 years ago was very disappointed to find it hadn't changed at all! The bar and restaurant were still very good however, rooms were very basic and worn out, no doors on cupboards, no shower curtains on baths, threadbare carpets, lights and boot warmers that didn't... Myself, she who must be obeyed and our 11 year old stayed here the week before Christmas,i suppose you could call us "guinea pigs" as we stayed the first week Skival had taken over from the previous owners, who now just run the bar. I have to say I do agree with some of the previous reviewers comments. Firstly the goods things,the... More

We stayed here having viewed the previous reviews. I was quite disappointed and did not think the chalet was good as it could have been. It's run down and needs renovating. The room itself size wise was okay and typical for a ski chalet, but the shower was tiny and If you moved too much you ended up having the... More

We stayed first week of January, had a great trip, staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are basic, but all you need as you'll be hitting the slopes or in the bar must of the time!! The food was amazing, we had a great variety and it was all delicious! So much so we are looking to go... More
