The serre palas was fab and couldn't fault it, very traditionally French and the owners and staff couldn't be more helpful. There are loads of shops within a 5 minute walk to hire equipment from and you can store it all at the hotel for free. (In the store room lockers which is safe).
To purchase your lift pass, there is a ski information centre, about 8 minute walk from the hotel where you can buy them, it's very easy and they speak good English!
