We had a lovely 4-night stay at Chalet Alpage last week. The sun shone, the snow was great, and we were extremely well looked after, just what was needed! The Chalet is located a short distance from the centre of La Clusaz and is as good as ski-in / ski-out with a walk of just a few yards to the slopes. The rooms in the Chalet are stylish, very warm and comfortable, the catering was excellent, and the Bar and Lounge areas have an intimate feel to them. A buffet breakfast started the day and the evening meals, from a set Menu, were nothing short of superb, with wines of excellent quality. Thoroughly recommended!

Lovely small hotel, well designed rooms, approx 5 minute walk (with skis) over to the nearest lift which then connects with the main ski runs. Alternatively, you can ski the long road down into La Clusaz from virtually outside the hotel. The three-couse set dinner is great (they will do a veggie option) though the breakfast is quite limited and unchanging. The hot-tub is nice, though we had to ask them to make it hotter a few times). Be warned that the swimming pool isn't open in winter which was an annoying surprise given that a photo on the website of the swimming pool surrounded by snow. The website does say the pool is weather dependent, but still the photo is very misleading. Otherwise, this would have been five stars.

We thank you for your very complete opinion and full of compliments about us, because we are constantly trying to improve ourselves to better satisfy our customers. With a unique and refined menu from our chef that changes every day we do not have a "vegan option", and we do not announce it to our customers or on the site. On the other hand, we often manage to be able to offer a change of dish to adapt as best as possible to certain particularities of our customers who ask us for it. Our breakfast consists of eggs to be cooked according to your convenience, several wholemeal breads, cereals (and even gluten-free when we are asked), which come from a local bakery. Our jams are homemade, our varied and quality cold cuts are local and our cured cheeses and cottage cheeses come from the farm opposite (located 100m away) and are generally very popular. Finally, as stated on our site, and as we explain to our customers before their arrival, the swimming pool has not been in operation since mid-January because being outside with low temperatures at night (sometimes -18°) it It was not possible to keep it at a "swimmable" temperature. This is what we make clear to our customers before their arrival and on our website. Photos of the pool with snow (or others of this one with sun) unfortunately cannot be changed on all sites we work with as the weather changes. So they don't mean it's working, and we don't want people expecting to be able to use it when they're not. .The jacuzzi and the sauna were used a lot all winter long to the delight of our customers. We thank you and will nevertheless take your opinion into account to announce this element even more clearly to our next customers in the future. Thanking you for your excellent rating and for taking the time to write to us, wishing you a beautiful end of winter and hoping to see you again soon.

We usually spend our late summer vacation at the Chalet Alpage and never were disappointed. Here nothing is standard: Each room has its own charming characteristic and sometimes cows are grazing directly in front of the Chalet. The team around Thierry takes care of us very kindly and responds to our individual wishes.

So, it is always so relaxing no matter if we are enjoying our room, the pool or the sauna, if we have a coffee on the terrace or a drink in front of the fireplace in the evening. The biggest competitor of the chalet are of course the wonderful surroundings for biking and hiking. It was our fourth time at Thierry. And there will be without doubt a fifth time. Winter should be great as well ...

We have recently returned from a weeks stay at the Chalet Alpage near La Clusaz. We had a wonderful time … the hotel was tastefully decorated with lots of sheepskin rugs and it was warm and cosy with a log fire in the bar area every evening. The family room was perfect with the mezzanine level providing enough space for our twenty something children and another used the bottom bunk bed in the main bedroom. The three course dinner was delicious .. we ate in four night and headed into La Clusaz on two nights. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of bread/croissants/meats/yoghurts/cheese and boiled eggs. On the nights we went out we got the ski bus into town (4 miles) and used a local taxi company to get back. Skiing was made easy every morning as there was a small lift just opposite the hotel. A special mention must go to all the staff who really were so attentive and kind especially Rafael and Cecile who could not have been more helpful. Thank you for having us .. we hope to return and would highly recommend this hotel. La Clusaz is a hidden gem .. only an hour from Geneva and it is a very pretty little French town with a very traditional feel. There was enough sling for a week and some lovely restaurants for lunch on the mountains. A La prochaine fois!

Beautiful hotel/chalet, in full snow this would be amazing as you are on the slopes and a lift is within a short walk. It's in a pretty location. Lovely, clean rooms. We had room 5 which slept 3 people and was a bit of a squash with our luggage too but we managed, the balcony gave us extra space which was great, room 5 has a shower.. Room 4 was bigger with a larger bathroom and seperate toilet.
We were able to use the jacuzzi and sauna but as previous comments, the pool was out of use.
On arrival we were told our room wasn't ready until 4pm, we arrived at 2pm and after an hour we were allowed to our room. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and chat to one of our hosts, who was helpful about where we could snowboard and ski.
The downside to this chalet is the bus service which finishes running from the village to the chalet by 6pm, taxis are difficult to get, we ended up hitching a lift, which seems the norm here and driving.
The chalet serves breakfast and evening meals at an extra cost, we didn't eat in as some of our party are picky eaters.

You are assured of a warm welcome at this charming, beautiful and stylish Alpine hotel. The owner, Thiérry is a real gem. The hotel is cosy, with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the food is good and with easy access to the wonderful, sunny slopes of La Clusaz with fab mountain restaurants on the mountain ( particularly on the Crêt du Merle area), what more could you ask for. This is heaven.

Excellent location for accessing the slopes, stylishly and authentically furnished and a great lounge and dining area with pool and sauna. Comfortable bedrooms and the food is excellent with a 3 course meal each evening consisting of local quality produce. Chalet Alpage has it all with consistently friendly service. We are a family of 4 who have just returned from our second visit and plan to return again next year.

First time in La Clusaz. Beautiful area.
Positives about Chalet Alpage:
Well kept Chalet
Beautifully decorated.
Friendly hosts
Next to ski bus stop
Negatives:
Poor communication. Had sent several messages via email and through Booking.com messages facility. The last three were unanswered.
Lack of flexibility in catering for a vegetarian diet.
One meal we were given a Rocket salad , another we were given roasted vegetables with plain boiled pasta? Charged the same price as a regular meal.
Lovely staff but sadly apparently it was too difficult to adjust the menu for a vegetarian and they did their best.
Great place to stay if you have a car but buses stop running at 6:30 and are only one an hour.
My bathroom was not cleaned and towels not replaced, although I had emailed, and spoken to the staff about this.
I was expecting an incredible stay after reading the reviews earlier, but unfortunately when I was asked by the staff member to only write a review if it's good ... Well..

We have stayed at Chalet Alpage for several days during January for more than ten years and have always had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Thiérry, the proprietor is a stylish, big guy with a big character who runs an extremely comfortable and stylish small hotel with excellent food, setting and ambiance. The skiiing is great with immediate access to the slopes and the linked five mountains of La Clusaz offer varied, interesting and beautiful skiing.

Hi, Thanks for your enquiry. As we are full for the night of 10th March, we cannot welcome you for those dates. If you are interested we can welcome you from Wednesday 11th March and we have at present availability until Thursday 19th March. Cost per adult and per night on half-board basis is 125 Euros. For your interest, I forward you a bit of practical information A 3 star hotel, and no 1 on TripAdvisor for more than 4 years, Chalet Alpage is situated on the piste just opposite the ski lift "Les Laquais", with a regular ski bus that stops outside the front door. The chalet is located less than 5 minutes by car from the centre of the village. Our half-board formula includes a buffet breakfast and an evening meal of a five-course menu or on certain nights local specialities such as fondue, raclette or tartiflette All the modern comfort! New over the last 3 years is the renovation of all the bedrooms. All now have a separate WC, a new shower or bath, and some add-ons such as a safe, a hairdryer and a flat screen TV. All our bedrooms have a balcony and a view over the mountains, Furthermore our ski room has boot warmers to dry and warm-up your boots overnight! Our free facilities! The chalet has a hot tub situated outside but under cover with a beautiful view over the valley. There is a sauna and our external pool is covered and heated for a swim. There is no supplement for the use of these facilities! We also have a large private car park. For ski hire or some ski lessons: we work with Oxygene in the village, as clients of the hotel you would get 15-20% discount, you can also book online and you would also get an even better discount on their website. For ski passes, it is easier and often cheapest (if you reserve at least 10 days prior arrival) to book it direct. You can find further details and some photographs on our website. To guarantee a reservation we require a deposit of 30%. We thank you for your interest in the chalet and if you would like any further information, please do not hesitate do contact me. Best, Thierry Thiebauld
