We had an amazing time here, staying in one of the chalets and looked after and Cooked for by the wonderful Moses who was a great chef and built the best fires. Watson was our guide for the spectacular dawn and twilight Safari rides. We saw tremendous wild life and the park is beautiful as well as the work being...

Chelinda brings you in an other world where Malawi doesn't look like Malawi anymore ! The service is perfect the rooms are beautiful: hot bath, fireplace, view on the plateau, and the staff and managers are very welcoming! A home away from home with wonderful safaris and walks!

I recently stayed for three night at Chelinda Lodge in the Nyika NP in Northern Malawi and I absolutely loved the place. The park and the lodge are truly spectacular and it was a pity I had to leave after only three nights. I could have easily stayed for another week without getting bored. There are many walks you can...

We stayed at the Chelinda Lodge for 2 nights. We were the only guests, the owners did everything to make our stay wonderful. Great rooms (even with chimney), very good food and unique location! Also the excursions (with guide) were very interesting, the landscape is gorgeous and unique for Malawi. The drive to the lodge is a bit long (approx....

The landscape is like nothing I’ve seen in Africa before – but have seen in Scotland! The alpine style cabins were wonderfully comfortable, with large windows and a balcony that was relaxing to sit on during the day or to stargaze from at night. It was cold at night and the hot-water bottles and the log fires were a welcome...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay at Chelinda Lodge. So pleased to hear that your dietary requirements were fully catered and you enjoyed the gluten-free biscuits. Nyika National Park is a unique place on this earth. You will never find another place like it. The scenery is unbelievable! I felt like I was in the movie the Hobbit, perhaps Pride and Prejudice...but there was a little more. We stayed at Chelida Camp. It is a short 10 min walk from the lodge. We stayed in Chalet...

We got to stay one night here and it was a truly lovely spot. Problems with the nearby airfield forced us to drive in - good in that we got a game drive, bad in that its a two day drive from the international airport. Regardless, we could definitely see this was a great spot even in our limited amount...

Dear KRS331, Thank you for your review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. We do apologise for the brown bathwater, unfortunately this is a result of the camps current filtering system. The water first flows over pine needles and then becoming too hot in the tanks as we heat the water. With non indigenous pine...

Nyika National Park is one of only 7 afro-montane wilderness patches in all of Africa. The drive up to the plateau is longer than average but well worth it, displaying much of Malawi's rural beauty. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The rolling hills of Nyika, covered in grass and pockets of evergreen forests, seem to belong to another continent. A pocket of hagenia woodland and forest backdrop shelters the idyllic upland Chelinda Lodge, and all its log cabins have sweeping views of the antelope-dotted hills. Wooden walkways link the cabins to the main area, complete with outside deck for sundowners, convivial dining around a fireplace and lounge area for quiet reflection or conversation. The vistas in Nyika are immense, while from a game viewing perspective a variety of animals can be seen around Chelinda Lodge - particularly in the grasslands. Numbers and species vary depending on season and include roan, eland, Crawshay's zebra, southern reedbuck, bushbuck, warthog, spotted hyaena, leopard and side-striped jackal. Even elephant can be seen at times. Birding specials and orchid species add colour and vibrancy to this unique area. ... more   less
