The only reason we didn’t stay here is they they didn’t have a family room available for three. We did however have an incredible evening meal on the terrasse looking over the town, the vineyards and the sunset. Wonderful food (34€ three course menu) served impeccably by an efficient waiter. Totally recommend
Accomodating staff, great meals, beautiful setting and grounds, lovely rooms although my room, in the annex wing had an entrance so short that I had to sit on step to enter it! Great room for little people! Oh, and the shower was tight, get wet, soap up, then rinse as shower faucet handle gets in the way and I am of average size.
This is a small 22-room hotel with no elevator but it was my favorite stay during our 16 days in eastern France. Our room (Olivier) looked out on a courtyard with a fountain and church bells rang regularly in the distance. Two nights of our stay, the hotel restaurant created gourmet 3-course meals for our group on a beautifully lit patio.
This hotel in this medieval village is magical. Reviewers had warned about the entrance to the old village and the narrowness of the road through the bell tower cannot be overstated. However, once inside, a cobblestone road leads to the hotel and from then on the front desk staff (kudos to Natalie) takes over. We were welcomed warmly, oriented, and led to our room in an adjoining building. The room was elegant and practical at the same time, looking over the pool and into the "new village." The staff was warm and professional. Daily breakfasts were good, and dinners in the hotel's own restaurant (albeit with a small menu) were quite good too. We didn't eat elsewhere because we were in Vaison-la-Romaine on Sunday and Monday, and many of the restaurants in town were not open. We checked out, feeling that we had left a mini home away from home, feeling both warmth and sadness as we pulled away.…
We traveled around France for three weeks and spent three nights at this magical and charming hotel. It was by far our favorite place we stayed during all of our travels. We were in the main building and stayed in "Prunus" which was a dreamy room with corner windows overlooking the town below and the bell tower...plus another window that looked up toward the castle. There were lot's of stairs up but it was well worth it! The staff at this hotel were fantastic and it felt like such a family. The breakfasts were delicious and the outside veranda was beautiful for dinner...which was also very good. Don't miss the pool located at the second building. It was super relaxing and refreshing, as our weather was quite warm while we were there. We loved this hotel and hope we'll be able to return someday!…
