The place is outdated and our room was very dirty. The building looks good but the ads and descriptions were misleading. The towels were not washed properly and the bed sheet dirty. We don't recommend this place.

The L’Orangeraie keeps it promises of being something special. When you arrive through the gate you immediately get a special feeling. A really beautiful building decorated with flowers, a nice pool and garden. The pool is very nice a with the direct view to flowers, palm trees and the building you feel like in another world. The staff was always providing a nice and smiling service.

The service was terrible. I’ve never met such rude waiters in my life. They treated us like rubbish and for the money you’re paying out.... it’s just unacceptable. We waited 2 HOURS for our main course....hence we left. Never go to this place! The food wasn’t even that nice anyway.

My wife wanted to spend her birthday weekend in the South of France, and no where was better to visit than La Croix-Valmer this beautiful hotel is the jewel in the crown of La Croix-Valmer. We loved every aspect of the periodic building and the matching interiors and furnishing. The ambience of the place was a delight and the serenity. The swimming pool was also a treat and necessary to cool down. Nicely hidden on a hill but close enough to a wide range of beaches and restaurants.

I love this Hôtel where all the staff pay attention to you. Awesome foods and great casual chic place. Out of the snobisme Saint Tropez and not far at the same time. Enjoy the nice Pool and the stunning view. This is my secret corner of Paradise.

We stayed here for two nights as part of our son's wedding celebrations. It is a very beautiful building (once a nunnery) and has a lovely pool. Breakfasts are excellent and a huge self service choice. The rooms are all moderately dated but the bathrooms are excellent. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and are happy to do anything to assist in making your stay enjoyable. The only oddity is that no swimming pool towels are provided (I assume they have lost too many) but slightly irksome to have to bring your own, particularly in the days of budget travel and small cases, so maybe a deposit system would be nicer. There is a short walk to town but not too much in the way of pavements so you need to be aware of the traffic. Equally it is an easy walk to nearest beach but significantly longer if you go to the main beach areas. You really need a car for this (or taxi). Lovely location, superb views beautiful hotel.

The hotel is very well presented, with an elegant eighteenth-century facade and a pleasant swimming pool (though close to the road, and therefore a bit noisy ...). The location is excellent. The interior, however, is a bit neglected ... the common areas are not very well maintained (not a flower), the corridors a bit … dismal, our room was ok, but very simply furnished. Also, you get the feeling that the whole hotel needs a good maintenance session: the door of our room could not be closed, and the bathroom door ... came off the door jamb, and was literally in my hand! When we informed the reception, the reply was: "Sorry, but you know, we are at the end of the season ...". In the area there are a number of more pleasant accommodations.

Such a beautiful château, inside and outside. Was a convent before. Lucky nuns ! You can’t really walk to the town centre because there’s nothing planned for pedestrians. We reserved a sea view, overlooking the pool, impressive. Very big bedroom and lovely bathroom except that it was impossible to have a bath because of the way the bathtub is placed. Anyway, the shower was very nice, even though the floor was always inundated due to a leak I imagine. Big comfortable bed. On our 1st night (we stayed 4) we met Gérard, the head of the restaurant, a true gem for the establishment. Personnel like him are hard to come by. Dedicated and friendly but not overbearing. Another very nice person is Nazim ( ?) at the reception. The dinners we had there were absolutely delicious. However with our cocktails, decent apéritif snacks should have been given, and not just a couple of salty finger biscuits. Large quantities and very tasteful dinners. Bravo to the chef. The gardner too was friendly and seemed to work hard. This is where the compliments stop. We had no soap in the shower (plastic bottle stuck to the wall) and a maid gave us a full bottle in our hands but didn’t bother to unscrew/screw back the bottle in the shower, made us do her job. Took us a while to figure out how to open/close the contraption. One Russian trainee, (on her iphone most of the time) when asked at the pool if I could have a cup of coffee, pointed me to the breakfast room and said « Serve yourself ». !! Though she wasn’t being rude or said this in a nasty tone, (didn’t smile either) it was quite shocking. The biggest let down was breakfast and the personnel and trainees there. The cutlery is not laid out on the table, you have to get everything yourself, the hot water, the tea bags, the cups, the food etc even though there were 2 French ladies and 3 trainees just standing there against the wall staring at you ! You must ask for warm milk as it was never available. Most off-putting and annoying. Especially the lady who was in charge, talking loudly to the trainees about her personal life, instead of helping us out with our breakfast. She stated that there was no olive oil (to dip with bread) the 5 days we were there. In the south, no olive oil ?!!! And on the last day, even though there were many people at breakfast, when I asked why there were no bacon and eggs, she said that there weren’t enough guests !!! Anyway the Manager was a charming lady, who listened to all that I had to say (good and bad) and she rang the breakfast manager right away to ask what was going on. Had it not been for our breakfast experience and the personnel there, I would have said that this was a perfect stay and a perfect hotel. Perhaps in a couple of years we’ll go back because it was so beautiful. The food, the grounds, most of the personnel ….
