The chateau is now a private hotel and cannot be accessed by the public unless you spend the $2400 USD per night to stay there. The rooms are 1 Star only, with no restaurant, very few staff, no customer service and very arrogant management.
going up to this property can make you feel like a princess in a castle - the views of Cassis and the water are astounding. The two rooms that I saw were beautiful. Sorry, folks, that's where it ends. Of the 5 rooms, only one has a shower. The bathrooms looked like that of my 1980's college dorm (and my sister in law found a bunch of ants in her bathtub). There are NO services at this hotel, and minimal (albeit very nice) staff. When my sister in law asked for a kir royale, she was told they couldn't make it (!!!). We had to search for someone to give us our room keys, as there is no one at the desk. And it is a VERY steep up-hill and down-hill into the town of Cassis, which has minimal taxi service - there were no taxis at night to take us back to the hotel, and we walked the incline in near-darkness. And since the hotel has no restaurant, it's not as if you could just have dinner there. (If you have any physical limitations, this is NOT the place for you to stay) A we have stayed at many five star hotels on this trip, we certainly have a frame of reference, and this was a very unsatisfactory experience for a great deal of money.…
The most beautiful place i have ever been this place will take your breath away .. it’s true that the price is quiet expensive but for me i think is worth the money to get this kind of view .. and is take just 5 minuets by walk to the village Cassis such a charming place ..
We stayed at the Chateau early October 2017 for a close friend’s wedding on the terrace. It is well maintained, for a 1000 year old castle. But keep that disclaimer in mind. You will pay for the magnificent views and novelty of staying in a castle. Quick walk to a quaint French seaside town. We shared a suite with only one bathroom, cheap linens, an outhouse style toilet and an ant problem with another couple, and the room cost $2400/night. For that price we could have stayed at an award winning 5+ star hotel. Overall, a nice experience supporting a friend at her wedding, but we’d never have to stayed there otherwise.
Lovely venue. The common area terrace - where you take breakfast, by the way - is absolutely stunning. My husband and I stayed in the standard suite (Camille) which was nothing over the top but plenty spacious, stone walls for that true castle feel & all the amenities you need. Room view was from a smallish window (with a love seat in front) but with that amazing terrace in the common area - we didn't need a grand view from our room. Asif, the manager, was a doll. Very accommodating, especially in helping us coordinate our taxi ride to & from the Chateau. And he chatted with us a bit at breakfast, which was lovely. Breakfast itself was a simple but delicious array of pastries, fresh fruit as well as meat & cheeses along with fresh squeezed orange juice & excellent coffee - served by Asif's lovely wife. It was perfect for our needs. We really enjoyed staying here & would highly recommend it to anyone!…
