A real surprise in the middle of an out of town shopping area, though easy access to Saintes center and the surrounding area. Lovely hotel, beautiful room and lovely gardens. Very friendly staff. A very good restaurant. The only let down was the breakfast which was over priced at 19 euros for a limited buffet.

We chose this hotel because it was recommended on the "viamichelin" route planner site and was a halfway point of our journey. The hotel was lovely, well located, only a few kilometers from the motorway, we were well received and we had pre-arranged for us both to have relaxing massages before dining which were excellent. The restaurant, like the rest...

We booked this hotel as a single night stopover on the way to Spain. The hotel is very convenient to the motorway ,very easy to get to.The parking is very easy and secure. The rooms are a bit on the small side but none the less comfortable. What surprised us most was the quality of the dining room ,the food was really excellent...

From the moment you enter you realise that you are going to be well looked after. Always a very friendly greeting by staff. The food is superb, one of the best in the region. There is now a small wine list with wines by the glass or bottles at very reasonable prices. This is a very welcome addition to the...

On the outskirts of Saintes, this hotel has a calm, old world and somewhat quirky charm. We got a great welcome from the receptionist and after a leisurely swim and sun bathing by the lake we enjoyed a cocktail and lovely dinner. We began our second morning with a walk around the lake before breakfast on the front deck. We...

This is a belated review as we booked here last year, September I think, via Booking.com. I meant to review it at the time but I forgot, which is probably a symptom of the shock we felt at seeing the thoroughly disagreeable rooms. As far as I could tell, Booking.com does not represent this place as a 'themed' hotel, which...

This hotel is excellent for travels north/south on the west coast. The grounds are magnificent with overall nice building. The rooms and general layout are definitely targeted for male business travellers! The quality for other is fair but price for business people. The service in the restaurant excellent with the quality of food well worth the slightly higher prices. Good...

To some people the decor of this hotel may seem quirky. Look beyond that and you will find a hotel with comfortable accommodation, good facilities and food and friendly and helpful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. The indoor heated pool was excellent with a plentiful supply of towels. Our room was on 3 levels with a small...

The hotel is situated a short drive from the centre of Saintes. There is good parking and the hotel grounds are quite beautiful including a lake with ducks and swans. Our double room was large and included a balcony overlooking the grounds and lake. I didn't see any air conditioning in the room but as it was not particularly hot...

Difficult hotel to find but parking was plentiful and the hotel is amazingly quiet considering its location just off the Autoroute. Our room looked as if Fred Flinstone had designed it, I cannot adequately describe it but it has faux 'old' beams and the bathroom was tiled in the brightest bits of tiles imaginable. Staff were pleasant but the whole...

Dear Madam « Clucket », Thank you for sharing your experience. Our hotel is indeed ideally situated at the heart of a 17 acre park, at only 5 minutes from the centre of Saintes. We were surprised by your comment on the room, as none of our 30 rooms, all with different themes, have anything "faux" about them! If only...
