Don't try to drive to the doorstep! Park nearby and walk, the city's small anyway. Friendly welcome, and the owners even called a restaurant to book us a table for dinner. The rooms are very small, hence the 2 star rating (french star system is based, amongst other things, on room size), however we were fortunate with a suite with... More

If you are looking for a full service, spa sponsored, deluxe experience - this is not the place for you. If you would enjoy a very small, very personal, family run, comfortable FRENCH hotel in an out of the way beach village, for a reasonable price, then you will be very happy here. As an American, and the only American... More

We had a very nice 2 night stay at Maison Richet in Les Sables D'Olonne. Our room was very small however it was very clean and was perfect for what we required. The owners were very friendly and helped me improve my French. Maison Richet is well positioned being a 5 mins walk in one direction to the amazing "Grand... More

I stayed at Maison Richet for two nights in June. I choosed to stay there because the website looked carefully made and in general a nice website is the clue to an attentive property. I was not wrong. Maison Richet is a little gem, tucked in a quiet street in the historical centre. From the moment you'll walk the door... More

After trawling around Les Sables for an hour or more trying to find a hotel we happened upon this absolute gem. It is perfectly placed, mid way between the beach and the quayside for the port, very close to the market, interesting shops, and a short walk to the best of Les Sables. The owners were wonderful - could not... More

We arrived in Les Sables d'Olonne by chance back in 2009. We have fallen in love with this area and the people and have visited this wonderful hotel now for three years. It's a small hotel situated in the charming little streets, between the sea and the lovely harbour. The husband and wife always welcome us back each year and... More

We have just spent two wonderful weeks at this centrally placed small character hotel in this very french seaside resort. The husband and wife owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. The decor was very interesting and the breakfast always good. We were even offered different types of french bread fresh from the "boulangerie" to try out by... More

Wonderful small hotel in back streets near to everything. Small room but ambience more than made up for it - good recommendations for evening meal. But the main feeling was of being in France, not in a hotel chain. Spotlessly clean and relaxed buffet breakfast. We got a free parking spot but doubt it would be so easy in high... More

We spent 2 nights in this hotel, based on it being in most guides. The room was lovely, tiny, but nicely decorated. The location is great, in the middle of town, walking distance to beach and old town, and buy shopping area. But what killed it for me was how thin the walls were. Granted, I am a very light... “We got rooms in the back building, very nice and quiet.”

“No elevator, at least in the section I stayed in - so ask about stairs if that might be an issue for you. No AC either - though I stayed in August it wasn't really an issue. Higher floors might help separate you from youthful late night street conversations.”

“Our room was actually perfect and it was on the north side, but it faced the street so I cannot imagine that any rooms would be a problem.”
