In a town that doesn't have very much to recommend it by way of good-quality accommodation, this was a very welcome find! The exterior and street are unprepossessing, but once you're through the front door it's a different story - a traditional French townhouse with a quiet courtyard garden has been beautifully decorated and feels like a real oasis of... We stayed at Le Cercle de Malines overnight before a morning tunnel crossing. The hotel is small with only 5 rooms but all beautifully appointed and the breakfast area, sitting room and garden are lovely. The house is a former lace makers house (as I discovered from a conversation with Sharon) and decorated in a modern light industrial way wth... More

My wife and I stayed for one night in this gorgeous bed and breakfast. The house is decorated exquisitely. The room was clean and tastily decorated. It was small and did not have a wardrobe but this was no problem for us.

Slightly towards the back end of Calais centre and not straightforward for us to find, although we had a useless map and were pushing laden bicycles, but once inside we were very pleasantly suprised to find the hotel, as others have commented, an absolute delight: on all fronts - hospitality, decor and ambience. The only downside is that were only... More

The house is absolutely gorgeous, well decorated, high ceilings and the host Stephanie was welcoming and helpful. We were lucky enough to get a space in the free car park at the end of the road but there was plenty of space outside the hotel too. Booked the family room for myself and 3 friends, we were amazed at the... More

This place is as the title suggests. It is beautifully decorated. With many period features. The place is stunning. Well worth the money we paid. It cost us 150 euros for a family room. Which was a twin and a double room split by the bathroom. It was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. And the host Stephanie was lovely... More

A hidden gem! Don't be put off by the area or exterior view. Once you have passed the front door you are in another world. Beautiful old ceilings contrast with a quirky and unusual interior. Every room is different and the furnishings are inspiration to change things at home. Minimalistic, trendy and unusual. Everything is spotlessly clean, the rooms are... More

This hotel is very deceptive from the outside, it looks like a rather run down building, but once you are inside its really lovely. My room was huge and very comfortable, with a massive spa bath and a proper Swedish style wooden sauna! The best things: - Lovely owner, she couldn't have been more charming and helpful - Amazing breakfast,... More

Well worth putting on the list if you use the tunnel regularly. Well situated, restaurant nearby, very delightful owners. Quiet well appointed room, and a great breakfast. Easy to get on and off the road to the tunnel - an excellent find.

We stayed with our dog at this lovely hotel in the middle of Calais on our way back from Spain. Ideal for an overnight stay ready for an early morning ferry or Eurotunnel trip. The room we had booked was not available, so we were upgraded free of charge to a beautiful room, complete with a massive en suite with whirlpool...
