Read other reviews of this hotel, and decided to give it a go. Some people claimed the 'Renovations' were an addition to the charm of the place. Unfortunately we believed them. On arrival owner Benoit, gave us a warm welcome. He is an absolutely charming - pleasant - and helpful host. After parking the car in the secure car park... More

Whilst I quite enjoy clean quirky hotels with character, le Particular Richelieu is quirky with clean hotel rooms, but then the bad things creep in. in every department of the hotel it urgently needs money spending on it. The Main doors, entrance hall and reception are cold and start, as are the staircases with bare plank floors and bare walls... More

We love this hotel. It is a quirky clean hotel with comfortable beds, pristine white linen and an excellent continental breakfast. The owner is adorable and is renovating the place and doing an excellent job. Don't expect luxuries but you will get honest decent everything [ facilities, food and service }. The décor is well thought out and mixes fun... More

We chose this hotel because it was resonablly priced and the reviews were mostlly good, we were not dissapointed, it is a well situated and clean place to stay. Parking is good and it's very close to all the shops and restaurants. We will deinitely stay here again.

My daughter & I stayed Fri 4th March. Despite having previously e-mailed the hotel as requested, twice, to advise our time of arrival, which was at 14.30, the door was locked with no way in without a passcode, & no-one there to let us in. We phoned the number taped to the door but it went to voicemail & no-one... More

I got unexpectedly stuck in Calais for a week with no idea where I was or what to do. A Friend of mine in the UK booked me a hotel and provided me with directions. I was near-hysterical but on turning up at the Hotel I was greeted warmly, shown to a wonderful room, and had the best nights sleep... More

This is a superb little hotel, the owner could not be more helpful and friendly. The Hotel is mid renovation, but do not let that put you off, it is clean and fun! Our bath was massive, the room was clean and even arriving at 11:30 at night was no problem. Marat here over any of the corporate hotels in... More

And I was wrong! This is not an upmarket hotel, that much is obvious from the price. It was however, much better than expected. The hotel is located close to the ferry terminal - the reason we chose it . Overlooking a park it was reasonably quiet with the exception of the odd creaking floorboard. The rooms were reasonably sized... More

Benoit is renovating his small hotel, and it is like staying overnight at your mates place! The hotel is simple, but very clean, the bed is extremely comfy, Benoit is so helpful and the price is extremely fair. The location is great, both for restaurants in the town or getting to train and ferry terminals. We will use it again... More

Stayed in Calais for one night and this was so convenient - easy to park and very close to lots of nice restaurants. Lovely place, quirky in decoration but we loved it all the more for that - had two lovely interconnecting rooms. Clean, comfy and warm. Benoit was really nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend and definitely stay again.
