Forbidden to grumps! Exotic, original, another world. It's clean, no chip beds and breakfast organic, local, tasty. Very good value for money. This 15th century mansion is a beautiful experience shared with nice owners: the grumpy, in chains, to us escape

The welcome is pleasant, the manor is located in the middle of a park, the nights are quiet and relaxing. If you dine on site, the meals are nice and the atmosphere is friendly. Within the grounds of the manor there is a grocery store with many regional products..

The Manor is truly a step back in time, our room was on the second floor up a stone staircase. a lovely views from the window of the surrounding moat and garden parkland. Still undergoing some repair and renovation by the new freindly owners. The room was a little odd in decor paint was a bit unproffesional but it all added to the ambiance of the place which is trully old and not just a modern building that looks old. Bathroom was clean but a bit odd up a step, like a pod thing inserted in the corner of the room. good wifi access. It was very quiet when we visited and looks like it is like that often no weddings Ect. We opted fort he evening meal which was fabulous 3 courses and cooked by the owners a possitve familly feel, breakfast was a bit poor but adequate a bit french i suppose but no cheese, home made jams, lovely home made croissants (2 each). Laval itself was a dissapointment, town a bit sprawling no moochy shops and i couldnt find a decent restaurant. It didn't bother us as we just stayed one night passing through you wouldn't want any longer unlike other quaint towns we passed through which could of occupied us easily for a few days. The manoir itself is located on the outskirts of town next to a residential/industrial area we had to ask in the tourist office to find it.

Very friendly welcome and very atypical place but the room being 95€, we expected much better. The room is in its juice, curtains stained by moisture, ceiling idem, seal of the moldy shower tray... Bedding is said to be high quality but bed base wedged with 2 pounds and which leans... (We did some pictures). Our long experience with this style of stage at this price explains our disappointment. And unpleasant surprise at Check-out, breakfast is not included: a first for us in Guest house! If it had been, we probably wouldn't have commented, just forgotten the address... It's a shame because again, the place and the welcome are at the right level. Not the fare.

Where to start???? -First of all the welcome: the host tells me that he has no Reservation in my name. However, this is a 5 night Reservation. Eventually he found it on his PC. -he leads me to the back of a building where pallets and other disorder are littered. -We enter through a small door and there is the back of a grocery store with can piled up, the brothel. -A little staircase goes up to the rooms. Small rooms, very old mattresses, uncomfortable, complaint of the wall on the ground, and all within the limits of the clean. The shower extremely small. -the worst happens.....the night arrives and many bed chips appear on the walls, the mattress.... Establishment to avoid urgently!!!!! Be careful, I’ve never seen that, especially at the Award. Giving preference to a Formula 1 is 100 times better

This is a charming old 15th Century manor house. We stayed a night in one of the large rooms on the first floor. The furniture and fittings are all dated but we were comfortable and it all adds to the feeling that you have stepped back in time. Your host Nathalie is more than friendly and speaks reasonable English. Apart from that she is a great cook so be sure to have dinner there. We would go to Manoir Rouesse again.

This is just like staying with some nice members of your own family or friends. Pierre and Natalie offered unrivaled hospitality and genuine kindness. It was a lovely warm place to stay and we were provided with everything that we needed.

At the second we made the turn from the road into the property the woods separated the modern world away.Suddenly it's all quiet. We were in a 15th century castle surrounding by woods from 12th century.Stepped on those stone stairs to our room is a step back in time. The room is huge with old time charming. And the onwer Natalie and Pierre are super nice people.Natalie would cook the dinner for us but she had to pick up their daughter from school first.Pierre and their son was dressing the dinner room for us.These gave us a feeling that we are in a friend's home. The dinner was really good we even applauded for Natalie. The home made breskfast was very good too. If you are looking for a building full of modern stuffs and still called castle. This is not waht you are looking for.If you want to touch a real castle, meet really nice people, feel the real Franch family's life. This is really a good choice.

As we arrived a bit early for check in we were met by a jolly owner and his dog. His wife - Madame greeted us from the turret and said they were ready with a special room for us. My exhausted husband helped by Madame carted up our luggage two floor up a spiral 15 century staircase to our room. This was really a wonderful experience going back in time. Our room was huge with an open bathroom. A super shower and two wash basins. there was no need for airconditioning because the weather was cool and anyway the mega thick walls kept the room cool. Dinner that evening had no menu other than Madame telling us that she had prepared duck and the dessert was a surprise. The duck was wonderful and dining in the Manoir reception room was a treat. We were there to attend the Le Mans race so unfortunately we could not enjoy more of the estate. I had a chat with Madame before retiring that night, it was interesting to hear another story of how the French live. This is not the typical hotel but is a place that provides a French old style experience. The owner's are very helpful and nothing is too much bother. I would give it a shot if you want something out of the ordinary.

This is a very charming hotel. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the family room for 5 people. There was plenty of room for all of us. It was so charming that we would highly recommend this unique place!!
The main bed was hard which was fine for my husband but I ended up kicking one of the kids out of their bed because it was softer. But it was all fine. The breakfast was a little small. Wish they had a few more items like yogurt and cheese.
Make sure to walk around and enjoy the scenery. It is so quite in a hidden little wooden area in the middle of the city. We stopped here after the LeMans Classic and on our way to Mont St. Michelle. It was the perfect place for our teenagers to feel like they were "back in time" yet with modern comfort.

"Laval is a pleasant town, enjoyable walks along the river. Found a great chocolatier in the old town, near the chateau. The manoir is about a mile from the town centre and on a hill, so if you walk in to town, it's up hill all the way back."
