We arrived late at Mont St Michel and, on the off chance, dropped in to see if there were free rooms. I'm so glad we did. As other reviewers have said, staying at night when the crowds have gone is just magical. Entrance to the hotel from the street is not particularly prepossessing but overlook that and enjoy the rest... More

We chose this hotel because we wanted to experience staying on the Island and viewing the tide when it came in. The rooms are very small that face the Abbey - clean, but old linens with bedspreads. Being a travel agent and having traveled the World, I knew ahead what to expect so was not disappointed. You have very few... More

Visited the Mont St Michel today Magical Visiting for the second time since Mont St Michel became an Island again. Not that convinced with the new shuttle service. Not enough shuttles and far too slow. Sunny day made it ok. We landed for lunch in the Hotel du Gesclin From the main street on the right. The basement is not... More

The same family has owned the Hotel du Guesclin since 1938; parents and adult children help out. 2 keys were needed to access this room and an exterior door as it was one level up from an exterior public walkway that extends along the bay side of the island. So its a little quirky but friendly. We were able to... More

If you want to try something different from the really touristic menus, you must come here. Nice staff, great view of the bay and really well done food! Oysters, mussels and meat as well! All served with good wine! Only one word: suggested! Check it out!

The decor here is terrible - it seems stuck in the 1980's - but if you can see past all the pink and frills, the location is excellent (we had a great view of the incoming tide), the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the host is very friendly and accommodating. We decided against half board and went a la... More

We recently stayed at the hotel and had dinner there. Mont-Saint-Michel is very small and doesn't require more than 2-3 hours. We arrived at 5pm and checked into the hotel. It's very dated and the room was very basic, which is not unusual for European hotels in this price range. However, my mother woke up in the morning to approx.... More

Read that a great way to see Mont Saint-Michel is to stay on the island and experience it when the crowds disappear. This hotel is a little worn down and rooms aren't small and it kinda smells like low tide but when you get to location you'll understand why. You're a bus ride and an uphill walk on cobblestone alley... More

After reading other reviews about the hotel and restaurant, I was prepared to be unimpressed. We didn't have the poor experience other reviewers did. Parking was easy, call a day or two before arrival and you will get a code to get into lot 3. It still costs 12 euro, but the lot is closer to the free shuttle. Do... More

Made an overnight trip from Paris to Mont St. Michel. We stayed at this lovely hotel located mid-point on the island, halfway up a steep hill. The room was a bit dated and small, but the large bathroom and the view from the bedroom window was breathtaking. The menu offered three separately priced a la cartel menus. The least expensive...
