Superb mansion in the city center, 3 minutes walk from the Le Colisée theater (we were there for a dance show by the Compagnie Béjart) and less than 8 minutes walk from the La Piscine museum.
Parking spaces along the hotel are free and we found one easily. Everything is done on foot to discover the city.
The copious breakfasts prepared by the very friendly and helpful owner of the place, Christophe, are served in the magnificent dining room, with very high ceilings overlooking the garden. Soft classical music accompanies you or if you play the piano, there is a beautiful grand piano from the 19th century which sits in the room. The beautiful furniture is decorated with small personalized decorative objects related to the famous Paris-Roubaix.
We stayed in a small studio, mind you, on the second floor with no elevator and narrow staircase.
The only downside is the smell of backflow from the bathroom. But that didn't stop us from sleeping well in peace (garden side), on good bedding.

We stayed here after watching the Paris-Roubaix cycle race, and it was a really great find at a price which couldn't be beaten. 10 minutes walk from the main squares in the town centre where there are cafes and restaurants and some impressive architecture. 5 minutes from the SNCF station (although we had a car so that wasn't important, but we were able to park on the street 50 metres from the front door). The owner gave us a lovely introduction to the property, our room, the surrounding area and attractions, and places to eat. Breakfast was simple but fresh and fullsome. If you want a room with digital climate control and 200 satellite TV channels then this isn't for you. If you want a genuine local experience in a place full of character and charm at a fantastic price, then you will not be disappointed.

Incredibly rude owners. We make a booking via a platform, then they unilaterally change the agreed price and later unilaterally cancel everything. Unreliable, rude, very unprofessional. These are the kind of people who should actually look for another job.

After a confirmed reservation they suddenly asked 110€ more for the stay. Because we did not immediately agree they just canceled our stay.
Unbelievable rude !

Response from christophe bey, Propriétaire at La Maison Bleue de Roubaix
Responded May 30, 2024
WE CAN !
