The location of the hotel at the edge of town is good and parking is not a problem. The first impressions of the hotel were not good.....broken tiles, cracked windows and rotting frames. To be fair, the reception/breakfast area was brighter and clean. Unfortunately, the negative impressions continued in the corridor and the room itself. The fittings were once really... More

We stayed here for an overnight stop on our way back to the tunnel. First impressions weren't good - the hotel is situated at the end of an unfinished road, next to some wasteland. The hotel exterior leaves a lot to be desired, plastic garden furniture strewn across the patio and overgrown grass and shrubbery at the front. There was... More

It has quite a few shortcomings, one of which is a good cleaner... refurbishment needs..etc it's a bit stuck in the past in many regards. But the woman in the reception was lovely and very helpful. That does a lot to make it a nicer stay. And it wasn't dreadful, not for the price I paid. At least not for... More

Very, very basic. Quite unclean. Dinner was ok though. But breakfast offered was one croissant, one bread roll and coco pops. View from the window was some sort of gravel pit, backing on to a traveller's site. Avoid this hotel at all costs

Not often I write a bad review but nothing much about this hotel was worth paying for . Arrived to a not particularly clean room, was woken by the building site next door. Needed earlyish breakfast which consisted of croissant and jam and just as we stood up to leave the very unfriendly lady brought out the rest of the... More

First impression wasn't great but we gave it a shot (we had no other option). My room obviously hadn't been used in a while as upon entry it smelt like a 1983 ford Granada that hasn't been opened since 1984 after drying a wet dog on the seats The shower worked and the grot kept you company, the toilet flushed... We were stuck for a Hotel for Somme 100 and this was the only place available! - The building appears to have had no maintenance in years - Gardens not maintained nor lawns mown in 2016 - This is end June / early July. Inside sowing it's age and barely adequate conditions .Restaurant open half the week and one meal... More

What to say. Ours was a Saturday night stopover. The appearance of the hotel and the shrubbery was of a totally neglected site. There was a strange smell as we walked in to reception. Greeting was ok and we were given our card key and directed to stairs leading to our room. Bedroom clean and tidy, noted stains on carpet,... More

We were very lucky to have tickets for Thiepval memorial service remembering 100 years. We struggled to get a hotel and this one was as close as we could get. It's not worth the money. The first room we were given was up 4 flights of stairs. The bathroom was rotten, the room was basic. We asked for another room... More

We stayed three nights as part of Somme visits Hotel decor very tired and several of minor irritants (missing bulbs in room, no shower hook, the double mattress a bit big for the metal slatted base, only one thin pillow per bed). But the beds were comfy with new mattresses, the room was as clean as you can get an ageing... More
