Every year minimal 2 times we are in the region of Gourdon and we stayed three times in the hotel and we liked it. Although it was not modern and rather old it was very clean and nice, with a nice breakfast. For more than a year now everything is closed.

The young couple who run L'Orange Tree in Gourdon are really making a go of a dated business. Though we slept in one of the unmodernised rooms, they showed us what they were doing elsewhere in the hotel and, when they finish, it will be an excellent establishment. The food is first class, whether for lunch or dinner and, situate... More

I have slept 1 night in a room not refurbished, with old mattress, old fashioned decoration, unclean bathroom and torn towels! I heard that the owner of the hotel has refurbished some rooms; I will definitely recommend to try a new room rather than old one.

We stayed here twice while doing a bike trip in the Dordogne region. This place was great. The staff was very accommodating and the food was great. They had this fish dish that my husband just loved and would mention at the end of a long day of biking when we were really hungry. They had live music each night... More

We had a really great meal at L'Orange Tree tonight, lovely food and great service. All topped off by the owner very kindly driving us home as there were no available taxis in the town. Real five star service!

We had a delicious, excellent value-for-money lunch at the hotel's restaurant today: fois gras, duck and a "parmentier" . The children's menu was under 10 euros for a starter, main & dessert. Very friendly service, would highly recommend!

Arrived for one night only due to a short stay in the area,we found the hotel very clean, friendly & welcoming.Charming owners who have renovated & modernised the hotel in the last 18 months.Dined in the restaurant & had excellent food & service. Breakfast was continental fresh & ample, would definitely stay again, which could be soon.

We arrived after driving all day in the rain very tired and not expecting much. We hadn't booked anywhere, but were made very welcome in the hotel, they even laid on an extra table for us to eat dinner in their fully booked restaurant. Where the food and atmosphere was excellent. This hotel was one of the few on our... More

A reasonable hotel and good restaurant in this town just off the edge of the Dordogne. The old hilltop town is very pleasant for a stroll with steep, narrow alleys and old buildings; it deserves to better known though does not seem to be marketed much. The main commercial area is now just off the south of this, with the... More

I would have to totally disagree with the reviewer about the service at the Hotel Bissonnier. The whole team were delightful, we arrived with our 10 year old daughter quite late, we were hungry and tired and they opened the kitchen specially for us. Not once were there any hostilities in our 2 day stay. We were treated as if... More
