As with all the hotels in this chain the buffet style breakfast was good, varied and plentiful, for those who eat large breakfasts, and the dining room friendly and inviting. Check in was easy and the staff very friendly and helpful. The car park was beneath the hotel and easily accessed. The room was large, very comfortable and so clean as was the on-suite. The hotel is situated in the centre of the town and walking around was very straightforward. We will visit this town and stay in this hotel again.
This hotel has everything that you need for a good and comfortable stay in the centre of Ales. Great value. Comfortable spacious clean room. Comfortable bed, pillows and sheets. Great hot shower and clean toilet. Clean towels. Clean carpet. Good location. Close to the train station about 5 minutes walk. Easy to find. Close to many restaurants. Close to les halles de l'abbaye alès, a great market place. You can ask the staff to fill up drinking water with your own bottle from the bar at the reception. Very helpful friendly staff. Great soundproof in the room. We slept so well. Thank you. Highly recommended for a pleasant comfortable stay in Ales at economical price.
I was driving on my own to the hotel and to be honest it's not that easy to spot for such a big building. Once you've actually found it head into the underground car park which is on the roundabout. The hotel has its own area marked in green and a dedicated way into the hotel via a passageway and lift. Checking in was no problem and the receptionist spoke good English. If you've stayed at a Holiday Inn express or Hampton Hilton you'll have a good idea of the standard of the rooms. Mine was clean comfortable and well sound proofed. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the restaurant area in town or 30 seconds from McDonald's so there's really no need for staying in to eat. Breakfast is a simple continental affair simple and good. WiFi worked all over the hotel but did require regular re-registering. Best thing about this hotel were the staff who were all excellent without exception. Smiles go a long way in both directions. I was on business so my company paid but would I spend my own money there - yes.…
This is a very comfortable hotel in a perfect location, although if you need much storage space you are out of luck. The hotel is obviously quite new. The rooms are clean and comfortable, if on the small side, and the beds are very comfortable indeed. The staff can not do enough to help and are all professional yet friendly. It is just a few steps from the centre of Ales and it is within easy walking distance of some exceptional restaurants. See review of the Epices et Tout (20 minute walk away,) and Duo (less than 5 mins away). For us Ales was a stop off en route, not a place to spend much time unless you are there for the shopping.
Campanile in Ales was really there in a time of emergency. Not only was it there, but the night hostess was nothing short of amazing. She welcomed us at around midnight with a huge smile and made sure that we would have the best accommodation possible, as she could sense we had had an emergency. The hotel itself was clean, the room comfortable and the amenities clean as well. But it is really the staff of this Campanile (a company we had no idea about) that made our stay. I cannot thank them enough. And, should I ever go back to the South of France, I will make sure to pass by this little place, at the door of the Cevennes again. Thank you Campanile!
