For two glorious weeks my husband and I visited Italy. We allowed ourselves only one night per sleep over to enable maximum travelling. Our stay with Jimmy and Francesca - Abruzzo Segreto Bed & Breakfast - was without doubt the shining star in this category. We experienced a home from home atmosphere. Our hosts were warm, polished and attentive. In...

We showed up unannounced and without a reservation. We were greeted by Jimmy and knew we'd found a great place. He was extremely friendly and showed us our rooms to make sure we'd be satisfied. We thought they were great and eagerly agreed to stay. We then met Jimmy's wife, Francesca, who was equally friendly. We asked for a recommendation...

Leaving Sorrento we checked a site called ViaMichelin, this was done for roads to travel on, however they also show accommodation. We found Abruzzo Segrato and checked the rating with Tripadvisor. We booked online and after many hours in the car due to be held up by road closures, Giro Italia, we arrived well into the evening. A smiling Jimmy,...

I've stayed with Francesca and Jimmy 3 times now. They are terrific hosts and their rooms are very nice. They will help you find any attraction or restaurant, provide information about the local towns and events going on. Navelli is in a great location to see any of the towns in L'Aquil and Pescara.
