We made a one night stop over and found the location and access to the hotel to be perfect. An easy, short detour from the autoroute, with reserved onsite parking that you can book for your arrival time, (beats the first come first served system in many hotels), and what looked to be available on street parking also. Staff were... More

Good clean hotel. Nice, helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely with lots of homemade cakes and goodies. The town is quiet so don't expect too much from it. But the main problem, and the reason for 3, is the lack of air conditioning. We stayed there in July and struggled to sleep.

We stayed here for three days while visiting the Chalons, Epernay, and the Argonne-Meuse. Very friendly and efficient staff. Good breakfast. Nice room. Parking available. Offered a free bottle of champagne to all visitors during our visit to compensate for the very hot days we were experiencing. A pleasant stay.

New and nice rooms, the superior rooms are really big with a cosy bed. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, good wifi, parking, near the center of the city - do you need more as a traveller if you stay a night? Was in room 206 and had nothing to complain. Will book again in case I'll be in town again some... More

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size and clean - the one slight disappointment was that the room house-keeping was a bit lax - we even had to ask for toilet rolls!. A good choice was offered for breakfast. The hotel has free parking for about 8 cars. 10-minute flat walk to the river... More

The hotel continues to undergo substantial renovations under new owners, and the large family room we stayed in overnight was very comfortable, large and quiet despite being on the roadside. The bathroom was very well appointed and there is a gym and sauna on-site, free for residents. The prices have increased to match the luxury environment, but is fair for... More

heavily surprised with the standard inside the hotel, that was apparently refurbished completely 1y ago. Comfortable room, beautifully decorated, great breakfast and only 5-10 minutes walk to many restaurants in the centre of Chalons. The room was big enough to accommodate 1 or 2 children. The only downside, they are now re-doing the outside of the building, that should be... More

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel has been recently refurbished and I really liked the modern decor, which is neutral but nevertheless cosy and welcoming. The hotel is within walking distance of quite a few different restaurants. There is a restaurant right next to the hotel but it was closed the day we were there so we couldn't test... More

When we turned up here we were quite shocked about the state of the outside of the hotel with the front door boarded up and an entrance through an uneven path in the garden. As soon as you walk in though things change dramatically. It is a very high-end decoration inside. For the €99 we paid I think this is... More

We have been looking for a stop over mid way on our frequent trips south. Someone on Tripadvisor said Chalons was terrible - NOT SO!! Go walk around and see the old cathedral, city walls and wonderful old buildings! The hotel, down a one way street with easy access ground level parking, is within walking distance of all of the... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pasteur Hotel is a delightful one on in many ways. Set in a former convent, its pièce de résistance is a superb ornate 17th century staircase. Its fortuitous position in the centre of the town means that guests are able to enjoy a range of gastronomic delights in nearby restaurants, less than 10 minutes’ walk away. The nearest, Le Petit Pasteur, which adjoins the hotel is highly recommended. In summer’s heat the hotel’s shaded terrace is a must. 28 comfortably-appointed bedrooms and off-road parking within the inner courtyard. The Pasteur Hotel is a charming traditional independent hotel ; it is not part of a hotel chain ... more   less
