Firstly this is not in Chalon. It is a few km south of St Gengoux le National, approximately 30km away from Chalon.
The welcome we received was most peculiar. The lady on the desk did not speak to us - perhaps afraid that we would not be able to speak French (we can) and she merely indicated with gestures and took us up to our rooms. Despite the fact that the hotel was virtually empty we were given the smallest room in the house. 2 nights in fairly cramped accommodation.
The power in the bathroom cut out several times and if someone was seated in there then it was not possible to enter the room.
The room was clean and freshly decorated.
Wifi was free but very flaky and I ended up taking my pc to reception to use it.
There is a restaurant on site but when we went there it was dead and empty so we ate elsewhere. When we returned at 10.00 the reception area was shuttered off.
Breakfast in the morning was with a much friendlier face... More
